DYK for Me & You Together Song[edit]

On 7 February 2021, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Me & You Together Song, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that "Me & You Together Song" by the 1975 was originally intended for the soundtrack of German, a film that lead singer Matthew Healy was writing? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Me & You Together Song. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Me & You Together Song), and if they received a combined total of at least 416.7 views per hour (ie, 5,000 views in 12 hours or 10,000 in 24), the hook may be added to the statistics page. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Fun fact: this was actually the first GA to pass during the GAN Backlog Drive! On a similar note, legobot actually recognized this as a pass on the good article nominations page rather than just displaying the maintenance edit summary like other times I passed a number of your GANs; this might have been initially caused as a result of your name's formatting, but who really knows. --K. March 2021[edit]

Stop icon

Your recent editing history at Give Yourself a Try shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See the bold, revert, discuss cycle for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. I had this question in mind after seeing the album nominated but I will ask now since it's under review: do you plan on nominating Notes on a Conditional Form for a GT soon, as all of the tracks are already at said status and the album looks like it will be? --K. Peake 08:56, 28 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Kyle Peake: That’s the plan! I’m still debating whether to work on promoting the band’s remaining singles or begin working on expanding A Brief Inquiry into Online Relationships. Giacobbe talk 11:52, 28 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Good luck with the good topic, but I honestly think you should wait until after that's complete before deciding fully what to do next. --K. Peake 18:58, 28 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Kyle Peake: Thanks for the advice. Did you find the GT nom process to be laborious? I've never gone through one before. Giacobbe talk 19:36, 28 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Not that much; even though there is a set list of instructions to follow, they are not very hard to learn. It's more getting all the articles to GA status that is the struggle, but I do recommend thinking before adding a summary of your nom to come up with something relevant and catchy! --K. Peake 20:26, 28 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I do currently have a GT nominated, which you could comment on if you wish! --K. Peake 09:22, 29 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Kyle Peake: For sure buddy, I'll go show some support! Giacobbe talk 13:23, 29 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks a lot for your support and very interesting to know you like the album itself; can you recommend me one of the 1975's records to listen to since in all honesty, I'm not overly familiar with their work? --K. Peake 16:31, 29 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Kyle Peake: My pleasure! Haha yeah I had Cudi Montage on repeat for ages lol. Regarding a 1975 album, that's tricky. What kind of music are you into? Giacobbe talk 17:06, 29 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Outside of rap, I am mostly into pop and rock. I thought it would be interesting to check out an album by the 1975 because I always enjoy listening to new music, especially in the middle of this pandemic. --K. Peake 17:46, 29 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Kyle Peake: The 1975 is probably their most traditional "rock" album, but "Heart Out" is a banger. My favourite kind of pop is that big '80s John Hughes type, if you like that, I'd check out I Like It When You Sleep, for You Are So Beautiful yet So Unaware of It ("Somebody Else" and "The Sound", from that album, are what drew me in). If you're more lyric-oriented, I'd listen to A Brief Inquiry into Online Relationships, which pretty much blends all their sounds. Notes is really guitar-oriented/folk/indie rock mixed with garage and house, but lacks in the lyrics somewhat. I think at this point, they've tackled every genre, so pick your poison, lol. Giacobbe talk 18:22, 29 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Very good of you to give me a full list with vivid descriptions for each album; I think I will probably listen to I Like It When You Sleep, for You Are So Beautiful yet So Unaware of It to be honest. I do definitely enjoy the sounds of '80s pop, but I'm not sure which release I will go for next if I do enjoy the album soon! --K. Peake 18:58, 29 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I did check out the album in full twice through and I must say, it is very good! Thanks a lot for the recommendation; this will probably end up on my playlist again in the near-future. --K. Peake 07:45, 2 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Kyle Peake: That’s awesome! I’m glad you enjoyed it! Did you have any favourites? Giacobbe talk 20:31, 2 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Lot of great tracks, but I would probably lean towards "Nana" being my favourite; the lyrics really hit differently! --K. Peake 06:28, 3 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Kyle Peake: If you like "Nana", check out "Jesus Christ 2005 God Bless America". Very similar. There's lots like "Nana" on Notes...! Giacobbe talk 19:23, 3 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I will give the song a listen sometime soon... nice that I'm only just getting into the 1975, as I have a lot of material to check out! --K. Peake 07:58, 4 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The article The Sound (song) you nominated as a good article has passed ; see Talk:The Sound (song) for comments about the article. Well done! If the article has not already appeared on the main page as a "Did you know" item, or as a bold link under "In the News" or in the "On This Day" prose section, you can nominate it within the next seven days to appear in DYK. I extend my congrats to you on getting an article this large to GA-status; will you prepare the GT for nom soon? --K. Peake 08:08, 5 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Kyle Peake: Thank you! I appreciate all your efforts in reviewing several articles within the topic. As for the nom, I still had to split one song off into a separate article. After getting that to GA I'll begin work on the GT nom. I'm currently in the midst of finals at the moment but I'll be wrapped up on the 13th, so it will likely be sometime around then. Giacobbe talk 13:51, 6 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I have been honoured to review your GANs, as I may be when potentially doing this one and definitely will be to comment on the GT! This is a perfectly fine delay though because the more articles there is for the GT, the better! --K. Peake 16:36, 6 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Amazing that since two days ago, all of the articles from the album have been at GA status; when do you plan to nominate the GT though? --K. Peake 07:47, 11 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Kyle Peake: I'll probably do that today! Giacobbe talk 10:20, 11 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
That is great to hear and best of luck with it, I will be one of the first to leave comments for sure!! --K. Peake 11:21, 11 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Kyle Peake: Thank you, that’s much appreciated! Btw I meant to congratulate you on your new job! Are you excited? Giacobbe talk 11:59, 11 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for the congrats, definitely not too late since I start tomorrow, yes I am excited since I do really like Maccy's! --K. Peake 12:22, 11 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Kyle Peake: Lol, don't we all! I've posted the GT nom here. I think I did something wrong, as it's not linking to the candidate page. Giacobbe talk 16:14, 11 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Very good to know and you need to pipe the candidate's archive to itself at the top of the page, like the others have done... I will leave comments now though! --K. Peake 16:32, 11 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Kyle Peake: Thanks for the support man! Couldn't have done it without ya! Giacobbe talk 21:05, 11 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I did listen to I Like It When You Sleep once again yesterday and it's only growing on me if anything! After having heard "So American" on the radio at work, I was drawn to making the wise decision of relistening to the album. --K. Peake 07:03, 24 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Kyle Peake: That song is a banger. That whole album is my personal favourite, to be honest. Glad you're enjoying it!! I hope the new job has been treating you well. Giacobbe talk 20:45, 27 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Yes the new job has been treating me fairly well thank you, been on Wiki a bit less tho after having many hours timetabled at McDonald's. --K. Peake 12:09, 28 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I did listen to the 1975's self-titled album today and it was a spectacular way to spend time on my day off; the production is epic and the lyrical style is gripping, it is a really enjoyable experience getting into their music and I think I'll review one of your noms this week! --K. Peake 20:54, 4 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Kyle Peake: Great to hear that you enjoyed the album. Personally, it is probably my least favourite from their catalogue. No matter how hard I try, I just can't manage to get myself into it. "Heart Out" is one of my all-time favourites though! Have you had a chance to listen to A Brief Inquiry into Online Relationships or Notes on a Conditional Form? I'd be curious to see what your personal highlights are. Giacobbe talk 19:55, 6 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Each to their own I guess, even though I do thoroughly enjoy "Heart Out"! I haven't listened to any of the 1975's material outside of their first two albums, but I look forward to checking it out soon. --K. Peake 08:17, 7 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Good topic candidates - Notes on a Conditional Form[edit]

Hello

I did more research on the sources and Euphoria and Far Out Magazine are indeed reliable. Their contributors have written for other publications and/or have experience in journalism. However there are still some sources I'm concerned about. When you have the time please address said issues so I can eventually, support the good topic nomination.

Kind regards, MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 10:04, 13 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The 1975 (2019 song)[edit]

Hi! I noticed this comment indicates you're mid-exam season (good luck and take care of yourself) but I thought I'd let you know that I've nominated "The 1975" from NOACF for FA, here. Should be open for a few weeks at minimum so take your time, but if you'd like to leave a review or make any improvements to the article, you're very welcome to. Thanks! — Bilorv (talk) 01:59, 15 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Bilorv: Dude, that's awesome! How exciting! I'll be sure to pop in and drop some support. It's a very well-written article and was actually the template I used for improving the other articles within the topic. Appreciate the luck for the exams, my last one is today. Giacobbe talk 15:05, 15 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Just bumping this in case it slipped your mind with busier things to worry about at the time. I've got a few good sets of comments on the FAC, which I think I've now addressed. Would appreciate your feedback in whatever form. — Bilorv (talk) 23:12, 21 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Bilorv: Hey! Sorry, I've been taking some time off to recoup and lightly working on ABIIOR. I'll go drop some comments either later today or tomorrow Giacobbe talk 18:10, 22 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
