December 2017[edit]

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. In your recent edit to Amistad (film), you added links to an article which did not add content or meaning, or repeated the same link several times throughout the article. Please see Wikipedia's guideline on links to avoid overlinking. Thank you. DonIago (talk) 21:42, 5 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. You appear to be repeatedly reverting or undoing other editors' contributions at Marcus Garvey. Although this may seem necessary to protect your preferred version of a page, on Wikipedia this is known as "edit warring" and is usually seen as obstructing the normal editing process, as it often creates animosity between editors. Instead of reverting, please discuss the situation with the editor(s) involved and try to reach a consensus on the talk page.

If editors continue to revert to their preferred version they are likely to be blocked from editing Wikipedia. This isn't done to punish an editor, but to prevent the disruption caused by edit warring. In particular, editors should be aware of the three-revert rule, which says that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Edit warring on Wikipedia is not acceptable in any amount, and violating the three-revert rule is very likely to lead to a block. Thank you. — MShabazz Talk/Stalk 16:42, 17 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

January 2018[edit]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, please note that there is a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Deviating from this style, as you did in Fairfield, disturbs uniformity among articles and may cause readability or accessibility problems. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. James (talk/contribs) 15:35, 2 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, please note that there is a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Deviating from this style, as you did in Roman Republic‎;, disturbs uniformity among articles and may cause readability or accessibility problems. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Some of your edits added punctuation marks where they weren't needed. Other edits were redundant, as they added information that was already given. Encyclopedic style is clear, precise, and avoids redundancies Haploidavey (talk) 12:56, 30 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia. Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been or will be reverted.

Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive. Continual disruptive editing may result in loss of editing privileges. Please read and apply the advice given in WP:MOS, and particularly the style recommended by WP:ERA. We don't insert punctuation marks between B and C in "BC" Haploidavey (talk) 13:05, 30 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Please take note of the above warnings about the Manual of Style. In particular, don't add ordinals to dates per MOS:DATE. clpo13(talk) 18:35, 6 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Abell (surname)[edit]

Hi there - I have reverted your edit to the surname page about Arunah Shepherdson Abell, on the grounds that this page is just a list of people with basic details about their notability - no need to go into details that are on the linked page. Best wishes, Tacyarg (talk) 22:24, 5 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

August 2018[edit]

Information icon Hello. Your recent edit to George Abell appears to have added the name of a non-notable entity to a list that normally includes only notable entries. In general, a person, organization or product added to a list should have a pre-existing article before being added to most lists. If you wish to create such an article, please first confirm that the subject qualifies for a separate, stand-alone article according to Wikipedia's notability guideline. Thank you. Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, please note that there is a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Deviating from this style, as you did in The Baltimore Sun, disturbs uniformity among articles and may cause readability or accessibility problems. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. That includes things like using curvy-parentheses rather than square-brackets for side comments (MOS:BRACKET). Please also get in the habit of using an edit-summary to explain each of your edits. For example, by looking at [1], you can see each of my edits is explained, and that way you can learn about why some changes are made that you might not expect. Information icon Hello. This is a message to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions, such as the edit you made to The Oprah Winfrey Show, did not appear constructive and has been reverted. Please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at our welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. If you only meant to make test edits, please use the sandbox for that. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you may leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. Information icon Please do not add or change content, as you did at Western High School (Baltimore), without citing a reliable source. Please do not add unsourced or original content, as you did with this edit to Frederick Douglass High School (Baltimore, Maryland). Doing so violates Wikipedia's verifiability policy. If you continue to do so, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Jim1138 (talk) 10:25, 13 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

And please stop adding unnecessary parenthetical detail to articles relating to Yellowstone National Park. Grant's term in office really doesn't need to be discussed. Acroterion (talk) 11:57, 13 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

September 2018[edit]

Please refrain from making nonconstructive edits to Wikipedia. Your edit to English Civil War, changing content so that it does not conform to the title of the article in line with the Manual of Style, is nonconstructive and has been reverted. It also does not conform with the generally used title for the conflict. Please use the edit summary to explain changes to articles; refer to the talk page and explain changes in more detail there, if necessary. Thank you. Donner60 (talk) 03:38, 8 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

There are procedures for changing the title of articles if that is appropriate. For information on page move procedures, see Wikipedia:Moving a page, and Wikipedia:Requested moves.

Information icon Please do not add or change content, as you did at Anne, Queen of Great Britain, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. Much of the material you added is wrong (e.g. that Elizabeth II was born in 1927 and is a member of the house of Hanover). DrKay (talk) 06:53, 8 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop adding unsourced content, as you did on English Civil War. This violates Wikipedia's policy on verifiability. If you continue to do so, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Again, you have introduced errors, such as claiming that William III of Orange was a duke. DrKay (talk) 06:55, 8 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Stop icon You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you add unsourced material to Wikipedia, as you did at William III of England. Someone born in 1650 is clearly not 17 in 1677. DrKay (talk) 09:02, 8 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
