RedWarn configuration file protection[edit]

Hi 3PPYB6, I saw this at WP:RFPP and was about to respond when I saw it had been self-reverted. In any case, I wanted to let you know that JavaScript files that are subpages of your user page, like your RedWarn configuration, are automatically protected per WP:PPINDEF so that no one but you and interface administrators can edit them. The latter are very well-trusted editors and they won't edit your config files unless absolutely necessary. If you already knew that and were just testing RedWarn out, then feel free to disregard. Happy editing! clpo13(talk) 23:02, 4 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, it seems pretty unreasonable to add a protection request randomly, and out of the blue. Since I just installed RedWarn several minutes ago, I didn’t really know what to do. :P Thanks for letting me know about this. 3PPYB6 (talk) 23:05, 4 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Women in Red[edit]

Hi there, 3PPYB6, and welcome to Women in Red. It's good to hear you intend to help us chip away at the gender gap. You can find advice on how to draft women's biographies at Ten Simple Rules and Primer for creating women's biographies. Given your interest in foreign languages, you might find some interesting women to write about by looking through our Redlist index. Please let me know if you run into any difficulties or need assistance. Happy editing!--Ipigott (talk) 07:29, 11 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

There is an existing article on the German Wikipedia that only cites one source. But, yes, I was fully prepared for this decline of the submission. Thanks, Theroadislong, for pointing out these mistakes. — 3PPYB6TALKCONTRIBSSANDBOXESLOGS — 17:10, 13 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

TROUTED[edit]

Whack!

You've been whacked with a wet trout.

Don't take this too seriously. Someone just wants to let you know that you did something silly.

You have been trouted for placing stuff that clearly isn’t an edit war on WP:ANI. — 3PPYB6TALKCONTRIBSSANDBOXESLOGS — 14:25, 26 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Ooh… boy… I really have to simmer down… — 3PPYB6TALKCONTRIBSSANDBOXESLOGS — 14:32, 26 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Some advice for the anti vandal[edit]

1. You don't need to give 4 individual warnings before reporting an account/IP. Giving 2/3 is usually enough.

2. You can report those accounts/IPs at AIV, and I see you're using RedWarn, just click on the 3 dots while on their talk page.

3. 3RR does not apply while reverting obvious vandalism. – AssumeGoodWraith (talk | contribs) 01:51, 7 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I also have a recent changes filter that makes it easier: hereAssumeGoodWraith (talk | contribs) 01:52, 7 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry for the late reply, but thank you, @AssumeGoodWraith. I’ll bear this in mind when reverting vandalism. Thank you. — 3PPYB6TALKCONTRIBSSANDBOXESLOGS — 15:51, 8 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Rollback granted[edit]

Hi 3PPYB6. After reviewing your request, I have temporarily enabled rollback on your account until 2022-01-10. Keep in mind these things when using rollback:

  • Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
  • Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
  • Rollback should never be used to edit war.
  • If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
  • Use common sense.

If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:Administrators' guide/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into trouble or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! -- TNT (talk • she/they) 00:41, 10 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Just a note I was on the edge of not granting rollback due to some minor areas of concern (see above for example) - please work slowly and carefully, and don't be afraid to ask for help -- TNT (talk • she/they) 00:43, 10 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Alright, @TheresNoTime! I’ll see what I do in the next month with rollbacking, and if I feel as though I’m worthy enough, I’ll re-apply when the right expires. — 3PPYB6TALKCONTRIBSSANDBOXESLOGS — 00:43, 10 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@TheresNoTime:
Just a note: I felt quite skeptical applying in the first place, due to violating WP:0RR and possibly WP:1RR. But, after checking some comments at WP:TEA, I was convinced to apply. Also, the IP in which I (nearly) edit-warred with was in fact an open proxy… I should trout myself for the trout above… — 3PPYB6TALKCONTRIBSSANDBOXESLOGS — 00:46, 10 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Sounds good to me, we're all always learning - I believe in giving everyone a chance regardless Feel free to ping me/leave me a talk page message in a few weeks and I'll extend it -- TNT (talk • she/they) 00:48, 10 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@TheresNoTime — Hopefully you don’t mind this, but I would like you to review my contributions using rollback. If you feel as though I’m worthy of an extension, you can grant it, otherwise, you can let it expire, or even revoke it. Thank you. — 3PPYB6TALKCONTRIBS — 15:19, 7 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hey I've extended your rollback permissions indefinitely - it will no longer expire. Keep up the good work! -- TNT (talk • she/her) 03:03, 9 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@TheresNoTime — Thanks! I’ll use this to continue to be a valued asset to this project. Again, thank you! — 3PPYB6TALKCONTRIBS — 03:10, 9 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Double warnings[edit]

Hiya there, 3PPYB6! RedWarn developer here. I was alerted by TheresNoTime at the Wikimedia Discord about your double warnings, and thought that I should give you a heads up about it. You currently have your rollback completion action set to warn a user automatically after reverting, which already files the warning for you. This means you no longer need to manually put in another warning using the "Warn User" button. To change this, find "Once a rollback is complete..." in your RedWarn preferences, and set this to whatever action you wish to perform (or "Let me choose", as I've set with mine so that I can customize my warnings). Hope this helps! Chlod (say hi!) 14:48, 10 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Chlod: Silly me… I’ll have to customize my settings later… feel free to press the emergency slap button on my user page. :P — 3PPYB6TALKCONTRIBSSANDBOXESLOGS — 14:52, 10 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
