This page is for requesting that a page, image or template be fully protected, create protected (salted), semi-protected, move-protected, or unprotected. Please read up on the protection policy. Full protection is used to stop edit warring between multiple users or to prevent vandalism to high-risk templates; semi-protection is usually used only to prevent IP and new user vandalism (see the rough guide to semi-protection); and move protection is used to stop pagemove revert wars. After a page has been protected, the protection is listed in the page history and logs with a short description indicating why it was protected, and the article is listed on Special:Protectedpages. Further discussion should take place on the Talk page of the article. In the case of full protection due to edit warring, admins do not revert back to specific versions of the page, except to get rid of obvious vandalism.
If you would like to request a page to be protected or unprotected, please follow the following steps:
===={{la|Example Article Name}}====
'''Semi-protection:''' High level of IP vandalism. ~~~~
===={{lt|Example Template Name}}====
'''Temporary semi-protection:''' High level of IP vandalism. ~~~~

[edit] 2011–12 Serie A (edit|talk|history|links|watch|logs)
Temporary semi-protection: Content dispute turned disruptive editing. What started as a content dispute has turned into disruptive editing by an floating-IP user after consensus on the matter was established against his position. The anon-user has continued disrupting the article spouting non-sensical and baseless rationale. Hopefully it'll pass.

[edit] Roger Federer career statistics (edit|talk|history|links|watch|logs)
Temporary full protection: Content dispute/edit warring – I wasn't sure whether to call it content dispute or vandalism. User Praline97 is going against tennis project consensus and guidelines by continually adding the same charts. Yes I wanted to add/edit some other things to the page but I can wait and maybe protection from all editing for 3 days will stop this fellow from adding minor tournament charts and flagicons to established charts. If it doesn't work.... I'll have to get admins to step in and give a hand slap. Fyunck(click) (talk) 05:30, 27 February 2012 (UTC)
[edit] Columbo (edit|talk|history|links|watch|logs)
Temporary full protection: Content dispute/edit warring. Mtking (edits) 04:31, 27 February 2012 (UTC)
[edit] Current requests for unprotection
If you simply want to make spelling corrections or add information to a protected page that is not disputed, and you are not involved in any disputes there, consider simply adding {{Editprotected}} to the article's talk page, along with an explanation of what you want to add to the page. See the list of current {{Editprotected}} requests.
If you want an existing page unprotected, please try to ask the protecting admin first before making a request here.
Check here if you cannot find your request. Only recently answered requests are still listed here.

[edit] Template:Aquatic Ape Hypothesis
An outrageous, ignorant and biased campaign has been going on on this page. WLU and others keep editing out a factual reference to the latest scholarly scientific account of the idea. To justify this they offer links to bloggs and blatant slurs such as Bentham being "vanity press". This is simply not true, at least not in our case. It's outrageous censorship. We understand, as well as anyone, that the page has to be balanced. We are not proposing any changes of wording that is favourable to the idea, but simply to report a new book pertaining to the subject. Algis Kuliukas (talk) 07:36, 28 February 2012 (UTC)
[edit] Current requests for edits to a protected page
- Ideally requests should be made on the article talk page rather than here
- Unless the talk page itself is protected, you may instead add {{Editprotected}}, {{Editsemiprotected}} or {{Request edit}} to the article's talk page if you would like to make a change rather than requesting it here.
- If the discussion page and the article are both locked, this project page is the right place to request an edit. If you can, please use the {{la|article name}} template to describe the article you wish changed at the start of your request.

Semi-protect: IP-hopping user edit warring (violating 1RR restriction on article, possibly hoping to evade scrutiny by using multiple addresses). I'm actually not sure why the page isn't currently semi-protected since one of the remedies in the arbitration case was that abortion-related articles were to be semi-protected for three years. –Roscelese (talk ⋅ contribs) 03:14, 27 February 2012 (UTC)
