the vidcap wasn't taken in 1936, right? - I had a mental note to make the same change (the trouble with mental notes is that they aren't worth the paper they are written on). Looking at the following vidcap screen, there is a copyright date which is difficult to read but looks like it might be MCMLIX or 1959. -- Solipsist 15:23, 16 Aug 2004 (UTC)

Wow, I hadn't seen that! The article stated that the character was dumbed down (my words, not the article's) when he went to color and the picture was listed as being Technicolor. The style is very 1930s compared to the TV show. Only other thing I can think of is a renewal of copyright, because I'm sure I never saw such a well-detailed Felix playing a lute on TV. :^) BTW, the article really does look great. Article Licensing

Hi, I've started a drive to get users to multi-license all of their contributions that they've made to either (1) all U.S. state, county, and city articles or (2) all articles, using the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike (CC-by-sa) v1.0 and v2.0 Licenses or into the public domain if they prefer. The CC-by-sa license is a true free documentation license that is similar to Wikipedia's license, the GFDL, but it allows other projects, such as WikiTravel, to use our articles. Since you are among the top 1000 Wikipedians by edits, I was wondering if you would be willing to multi-license all of your contributions or at minimum those on the geographic articles. To allow us to track those users who muli-license their contributions, many users copy and paste the "{{DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual}}" template into their user page, but there are other options at Template messages/User namespace. Hi Brian,

I just want to say that I'm impressed by the articles you list under 'African stuff' on your user page. I think I came across Maka-Njem or Bamileke when I was checking out some Bantu languages; and the quality and length of the article surprised me, as articles like this are very rare in this area of Wikipedia. So I give you this Sunflower of Thanks for contributing content of exceptional high quality. Are you aware of Wikiproject Countering Systemic Bias? Because you're doing just that. Keep up the good work!

Daffy Dumas Duck

I did some checking and found that name was used exactly once, in "The Scarlet Pumpernickel" (1950). It's the name Daffy puts on a script he is trying to sell to the studio. The script is a takeoff on the novel "The Scarlet Pimpernel" by Baroness Emmuska Orczy. Alexandre Dumas was the author of "The Three Musketeers", "The Man in the Iron Mask", "The Count of Monte Cristo" and other tales contemporary with the Scarlet Pimpernel's time frame. It is reasonable to assume that this was just a joke (possibly a sly double-meaning joke, given the track record of the "Termite Terrace" guys, who brought us geographical names like "Bear Butte") and I'm guessing that some "ignoranimous", as Bugsy would say, took it literally. As a result, there are several Google references to "Daffy Dumas Duck" that imply that was his real name somehow. Wahkeenah 18:19, 13 May 2005 (UTC)

Charlie Dog nonsense

The old Charlie Dog cartoons which had to do nothing with "disco" in the 1940s and 50s, but it did not exist in those decades, the genre began in the 1970s, but my family (or my parents) got this all wrong mistaking Charlie for a singer, and tried to warn me not to watch his shows. He did not host his own shows and I am sure that WB denies the claims.

But, I saw him on television, in only the "Pup Named Charlie" show between 1987 and 1990, I don't remember what was the show about, and but it has been a long time. Because you deny these spinoff series that were on TV don't make any sense to me, COME ON, put these titles of the "spinoffs" back on there. You can find it on Google. That was about 12:23 (I think, that is London Time, in the afternoon,) when that was 6:23 in the morning, my time. Right now it is almost 7 or 8 hours, he seems to be no longer responding. It's not nonsense. I already have a pitcure of "Disco Dog", including Charlie/Scooby cartoons, but all printed from the computer, it's too late. Cartoon Network, along others seem to deny there's a 1970s cartoon series on television, would be thinking that I am crazy or a liar? How about the BBC and other English television networks, they don't know if this can be verified, and I am not "vandalizing" your talk page-

Well, no one wanted to delete the "hoax" edit in the Scooby page in the Spin-off TV series after two days, it looks like Amcaja and Jeff Schiller could be banned from Wikipedia. He Did? I didn't know that. Freberg said that he did in a number of Looney Tunes documentaries I've seen, talking about how he was eighteen when he started (whcich would have been 1944). Well, all I have as a source at hand are various websites. The Three Bears (Looney Tunes) article does mention Freberg as the voice of Junior for the other Three Bears cartoons (just not the first one). Baka Pygmy categorisation

Hi Brian. I would like to reinstate the Category:Indigenous peoples of Central Africa to the Baka pygmy article, which I note you had replaced with other "ethnic group" categories. The different category schemes need not be in conflict. Please see Category talk:Indigenous peoples for some exposition on the rationale behind the indigenous category schema, and let me know if you've any further objection. Okay, I see your point; the two categories are not in conflict, so feel free to reinstate it. This does seem potentially problematic, however; should the same category be applied to all articles on Cameroon's ethnic groups? And since Cameroon is also considered part of West Africa, should Category:Indigenous peoples of West Africa be applied as well? Amcaja 30 June 2005 12:31 (UTC)

Thanks Brian. No, not all ethnic groups of Cameroon (or elsewhere) would warrant inclusion in an indigenous peoples category; only those for whom there is evidence that specific recognition or claim is made, as per the particular sense of the term used at Category:Indigenous peoples. Although of course the vast majority of Africans may be said to be indigenous to the continent, originating there and nowhere else, only a minority of African peoples are identifying as indigenous peoples in the modern analytical sense of the term- see this report from the ACHPR for some examples. Indigenous peoples would only be a subset of ethnic groups, if you like. As far as regional identification goes, perhaps inclusion in both Central & West African subcats is appropriate, since as you mention the boundaries btw the two regions overlap in many interpretations.--cjllw | TALK 2005 July 1 01:21 (UTC)

Tasmanian Devil FAC

Thanks for your points on the Tasmanian Devil article. I think I have addressed everything but the capitalisation of the common name, which I think we will have to agree to disagree on at this point. I did not do a damn thing

No one knows if there were a cartoon showing Charlie and Scooby as claimed, last year. I wouldn't startle. Despite with my parents ignorance, but they insisted there is a Charlie Dog cartoon series, and at only one time, told me to shut up about the character, but they deny all of that, and would later threaten them. But, I won't do it, now.

Mr. Brian [name removed for privacy reasons], I am not sure your parents were aware of any disco cartoon shows, I am going to take care of this situation.

Category:Star Wars films

Only Episodes I-VI are "Star Wars" films, as part of the "Star Wars" series. I don't see why this is so hard to understand. There are spin-offs and spoofs, but those are not "Star Wars" films, as they are not part of the series. Copperchair 16:55, 31 July 2005 (UTC)

With regards to image boxes, there was a big vote on meta a while ago, not sure where. The point is by using a stylesheet class, the appearance is tied to the skin, so it can be edited by the user, or change with different skin settings, as opposed to using whatever the user agent sets as the default. Looks like someone beat me to it. The |- (<tr> in html) indicates the start of a new row and only nests | (<td>s), so the ---- (<hr />) has to go after the | (<td>).

In HTML it would look like:
