Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:Lawanda.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 23:15, 18 March 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. EJF (talk) 23:15, 18 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Signor Lawanda[edit]

Welcome!

Hello, Catman1210, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on discussion pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{helpme}} before the question. Again, welcome! Nice work on the Signor Lawanda articles. Let me suggest, though, that the title was better as Signor Lawanda-- Wikipedia naming convention is that the article be titled by the subject's most familiar name. Also, there is no need to have a separate article at Hugh David Evans-- you can use what is called a "redirect" to make multiple titles point to the same page. To do it, you could replace the entire contents of the Hugh David Evans page with "#REDIRECT:[[Signor Lawanda]]"", and anyone who searched for Hugh David Evans would be taken to the Signor Lawanda page.

Let me know if you want any help. There's a lot to learn about Wikipedia! -- Mwanner | Talk 19:16, 29 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Comical Brown[edit]

A tag has been placed on Comical Brown requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Delicious carbuncle (talk) 00:21, 16 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Timothy catalano[edit]

A tag has been placed on Timothy catalano requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. May 2008[edit]

Welcome, and thank you for your attempt to lighten up Wikipedia. However, this is an encyclopedia and the articles are intended to be serious, so please don't make joke edits, as you did to Religion. Readers looking for serious articles will not find them amusing. If you'd like to experiment with editing, try the sandbox, where you can write (almost) whatever you want. Thank You. A tag has been placed on Phillipo catalano, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to have no meaningful content or history, and the text is unsalvageably incoherent. If the page you created was a test, please use the sandbox for any other experiments you would like to do. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard. Feel free to leave a message on my talk page if you have any questions about this.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. • I have deleted the article for the second time; I don't see it as suitable for Wikipedia. It doesn't contain any references (worse, there are no Google hits for "Phillipo catalano"). In addition, it's poorly written and doesn't really establish the person's notability. - Mike Rosoft (talk) 20:16, 25 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not remove maintenance templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Phillipo Catalano, without resolving the problem that the template refers to, or giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Black Hand (Chicago)[edit]

Hi Catman--

I've run across your fairly recent new article on "Black Hand (Chicago)".

Note that Black Hand activity actually occurred in a number of U.S. cities as an extortion racket, as I've noted in the Discussion page for your article - please look at this.

I feel that your information is useful, but that it should properly be incorporated into the article entitled "Black Hand (extortion)".

Except for posting my suggestion on your article's Discussion page, I have made no other changes to it.

However, what I did do because I felt it was confusing, was to edit the "Black Hand" disambiguation page by adding "and the United States" to follow "Italy"; and to delete the disambiguation link to your (Chicago) article. So your article is still there now, unchanged, but with only the disambiguation link removed.

Chicago may have been a notorious location of Black Hand extortion activity, but it was by no means unique; I suspect that New York was a more important center of Black Hand racketeering. Milkunderwood (talk) 00:53, 18 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed merge at Talk:Black Hand (Chicago)[edit]

Greetings, the article Black Hand (Chicago) still hasn't developed into a proper Wiki article, and doesn't give any indication that it's a separate concept from the overall Black Hand (extortion). I've therefore proposed a merge into the overall Black Hand article, to form a "Chicago" section. Your input appreciated. MatthewVanitas (talk) 21:24, 12 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
