Help me![edit]

Hi. I created a second article and made it a draft so that others could let me know if it needs changes or additional work of any kind. I am not sure if I should be doing something to submit it for review or what. Thanks! -- CPP

CognitivePsychPhD2014 (talk) 22:21, 1 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

It seems that you've already submitted two articles, one decline and the other accepted, so you should be familiar with the process and what makes a good article. Use {{subst:submit}} at the top of the draft to submit it for review. I think the article needs more work, especially regarding formatting and bare references. —Hexafluoride Ping me if you need help, or post on my talk 22:45, 1 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Hexafluoride: Many thanks! Actually my first posting does seem to have been accepted with just some light editing by someone else, which I was glad they did. Turning to this second contribution, yeah the references do seem bare--I wasn't sure about that but your link there will help. CognitivePsychPhD2014 (talk) 01:00, 2 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Help me![edit]

I am trying to replace the bare references with fully specified references. A lot of them are magazine articles, eg in Newsweek or whatever. When I am in edit mode and click to insert a Cite, it offers me four templates, for News, Journal, etc. I am not offered Magazine Template, even though I have the impression that that does exist. Can you advise me how I can get that? Thanks.

CognitivePsychPhD2014 (talk) 23:26, 2 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

You can add it manually: Either edit the code like this: <ref>{{cite magazine|title=ABC|first=John |last=Doe |magazine=Newsweek |date=February 29, 2016}}</ref> See Template:Cite magazine for the full list of available parameters. Or, if you prefer the Visual Editor, when you click to insert a citation, choose "Basic form", then "Insert: Template", then type "Cite magazine" (without the quotation marks) to get that template. Personally I tend to use "journal" or "news" instead; cases where you need parameters not provided by those templates will be rare. Huon (talk) 01:21, 3 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
