Speedy deletion nomination of Choice And Partnership Approach[edit]

2008 Waihopai GCSB Attack[edit]

In 2008 three members of the loosely formed peace activists, Ploughshares Aoteoroa punctured the protective dome of one of the satellite dishes at a Government run satellite interception station in an attempt to either persuade the U.S. Government to abandon their war in Iraq, or to pressure the New Zealand Government to abandon their support for the Echelon programme. The three ( Adrian Leason, Father Peter Murnane and Sam Land), were charged but were acquitted in a controversial jury trial, claiming that they had undertaken their actions in order to protect civilians killed by US forces in Iraq. The Government Communication Security Bureau is still debating whether to try and charge them the estimated one million dollar cost or repairing the dome.

Biopsychosocial Model[edit]

The Biopsychosocial model (as I see it), does not aim to address anything of the sort. In it's bare sense, it only expands the concept of illness being caused by some change in pathology, physiology or function (the biomedical model), to include notions of social and psychological influence in the causation. The social sciences literature around the medical model means something quite different, which in the medical area would probably be more in the medical paternalism / medical ethics areas. Also, if 'nothing about us without us' runs both ways, most doctors would find some of what is written about the 'medical model' moderately offensive, and not view it as reflective of their own views or the current profession as a whole. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for calculation the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Invitation to an in-person meetup in Mohua / Golden Bay[edit]

Thinking about your summer break? Think about joining other Wikipedians and Wikimedians in Golden Bay / Mohua! Details are on the meetup page. There's heaps of interesting stuff to work on e.g. the oldest extant waka or New Zealand's oldest ongoing legal case. Or you may spend your time taking photos and then upload them.

Golden Bay is hard to get to and the airline flying into Tākaka uses small planes, so we are holding some seats from and to Wellington and we are offering attendees a $200 travel subsidy to help with costs.
