Welcome[edit]

Welcome!

Hello, Goldrushcavi, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Again, welcome!  --TeaDrinker 07:54, 19 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

RE: Date Links[edit]

Well, I've seen them linked in every other article I had seen before Paul Reubens, so I figured maybe it was accidentally unlinked. If they are undesirable, then that may pose a problem for most articles. --Wizardman 18:24, 22 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Wheel of Fortune winners page marked for deletion/merge[edit]

Since you created the page, I thought you needed a heads-up. My vote was to merge it with the main show page. Also, can you source the data?JTRH 02:56, 3 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

RE: Let's Make a Deal[edit]

Although I cannot do anything about it per Wikipedia rules, I really do not agree with your decision to delete what I consider quite important information concerning the television show Let's Make a Deal.
As you are certainly aware as a game show fan, prior to the 1990s, the networks used scheduling as a strategy for dominance in a part of the broadcast day that proved to be quite profitable for them. The context is highly important to the history of a game (or any other television show), as it usually determines how long a show will last, and thus make an impact upon the culture at large. Thus, I cannot see why those several paragraphs detract, as you claim, from the article; I composed them in the hopes that they would enhance them.
If you would, please discuss this with me before altering other articles I have revised with this in mind. Thank you.Mike 05:30, 20 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I completely understand your wanting to include the information and why you consider it important, but it is also unsourced and as such falls under original research, which is also not allowed. I don't know who we're supposed to "go before" if we have a disagreement (I know it's somewhere in the Wikipedia manual), but this would be a good opportunity to do so. -Goldrushcavi 21:26, 20 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:Emerson_Universal.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. BigDT 12:36, 9 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ceiling fan article - vandalism[edit]

Yo dude, heads up--more vandalizing had been done by 67.43.101.138 to the ceiling fan article. I've reverted certain portions of his edits, and left a lengthy explanation and warning on his talk page (as I saw that you had done twice before), which I think you should read (just click the link of his IP address above).

  • Thanks for removing more of his anonymous, unsigned, vandalism. He's pushed it too far; I'm requesting admin involvement at this point.

GSN[edit]

I see your point on the I.P.'s person's page, HOWEVER, my opinion is that you can leave in the GSN note when it's a show like, Winning Streak or The Better Sex, where GSN has aired the only episodes in existence (Well, TBS has a pilot and the finale out there, but hopefully you see my point...). FamicomJL 01:58, 19 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

100% correct, we are on the same page. I don't even think an "All episodes exist" mention is even needed for shows past like 1986, the shows are bound to exist. FamicomJL 04:12, 19 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ceiling fan article - number of blades[edit]

Hey JW, I actually think I was wrong in editing the ceiling fan article to say "one to six blades", in light of what you pointed out about the Monte Carlo spider-of-death thing, and the antique Guth fans. I've edited it back to say "two to six" blades, and added notes that (a) some specialized art fans have other numbers of blades, such as one or eight or more, and (b) most residential fans have four or five blades, and most industrial fans have three blades. Piercetheorganist 00:38, 20 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

GUTS[edit]

Ok, I restored most of those edits for the events, but I tried to follow your guidelines. I'm refraining from naming specific players' instances, and won't restore the Taglines. Hope everything is ok now. 72.89.225.181 23:53, 25 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Game show articles[edit]

If someone's doing something unusual, you may want to note that. Usually when I'm looking at the vandal board (and as far as I know this is often the case), we're looking for blatant vandalism—"PENIS LOL", totally and blatantly false information ("George Washington was born in 1950") or the like. Can you give me some examples of the edits where he's falsifying? That subtle misinformation is some of the worst vandalism, if someone's up to that, I won't hesitate to block them. Individual server rules in Four Square, an article you created, has been nominated for deletion. We appreciate your contributions. However, an editor does not feel that Individual server rules in Four Square satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in the nomination space (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and the Wikipedia deletion policy). Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Individual server rules in Four Square and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of Individual server rules in Four Square during the discussion but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion discussion. An AfD typically runs for 5 days. Of course, should the article not survive AfD, you can always ask for it to be moved to user-space where you can work on indefinitely until it's ready to move back into article space. Further, I appreciate that this content was moved from another article, but my reading of Wikipedia policy indicates that such an article is inappropriate. -Chunky Rice 05:21, 4 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

AIV report[edit]

I took your report off AIV as it is meant for currently active vandals, not ones who made their last questionable edits two days ago. I recommend instead that you take this to WP:AN/I where another administrator can decide what to do. Daniel Case 04:27, 5 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Jon, I added a "public domain" release to the photo. Doing so was VERY presumptuous of me, and I sincerely hope you don't mind, but I figured you'd rather the photo stay in the article and not get deleted, especially in the event that you didn't go on your computer for a few days and didn't see the issue (it was tagged for speedy deletion). Hope that's ok! Ciao. Piercetheorganist 02:47, 26 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Another editor has added the {{prod}} template to the article Jeopardy! set evolution, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the {{prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. AfD nomination of Jeopardy! set evolution[edit]

I have nominated Jeopardy! set evolution, an article you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Jeopardy! set evolution (2nd nomination). Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. The deletion of Jeopardy! Set Evolution was highly unnecessary, as it appears to have upset some Jeopardy! fans. If anybody is reading this message, please reconstruct Jeopardy! Set Evolution.--Tomballguy (talk) 23:35, 22 February 2009 (UTC)Chris[reply]

Speedy deletion of Jeopardy! set evolution[edit]

A tag has been placed on Jeopardy! set evolution, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as at articles for deletion. Under the specified criteria, where an article has substantially identical content to that of an article deleted after debate, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you.
