JustH[edit]

Just be a person I can go to when I need advice?

  • Sure, no problem. As to your question, it varies on how long it takes before you can become an admin. You can go to WP:RFA to see some of the requirements. Generally it's things like edit counts(2 or 3 thousand), writing a featured article, or being known for having a coolhead. Just H 02:37, 1 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

P.S, you should put four tildes after your comments like this ~~~~ . That way people can come to this page quickly.

Thank you. I will do that. Horsemen4life 09:16, 3 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Adoption[edit]

I got your request for adoption, I'm going to be very erratic in my editing during the next couple of weeks, but I'm willing to adopt you anyway, I'll respond to any request the next time I'm on, you may also get responses from other experienced editors who also watch my page. review of edits[edit]

Your most recent edits to Massachusetts Institute of Technology diff, the language used was fine you'll notice that two others editors made some modifications. One editor added a citation/reference for the information and the other wikified the text you added. Other edits you've made are similar but with time you'll learn to do that at the time, see WP:MOS and WP:EDIT for more tips.

The article Dark 'N' Stormy needs some more work especially focusing on establishing notability, looking at the history you'll notice it was {{prod}} but removed yet if someone chooses to send it to WP:AfD this will be the issue that is raised. Over all you contribs have been positive I didn't see any reverts to your edits so well done. Gnangarra 01:55, 27 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm in the learning process so thank you!. Horsemen4life 01:57, 27 April 2007 (UTC)Horsemen4life[reply]

Vandal reverts[edit]

To revert vandalism edits just go to the edit history compar then edit the last version that was ok this'll remove the problem. Be careful that if theres a new edit thats fine then thes best option is to edit the section and remove the problem remeber to add an edit summary so others what/why. Also warn the editor who did the vandalism, instructions for that are at WP:AIV Gnangarra 00:54, 10 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Greetings. Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed an edit you made to this page got reverted... and also noticed your comment (which can just go on the talk page directly). It may be possible to salvage some of what you posted, but you'll have to verify it through an appropriate external citation... sometimes hard to do for this kind of thing. Lots of company articles have "derogatory" sections... This might belong in that kind of section. For less encyclopedic content that you want to post on financial services companies, fisolutionswiki might be a better fit. --Pearrari (talk) 05:36, 9 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Britney[edit]

The sourcing says RIAA SPEARS, BRITNEY 31(Certified Units in Millions)[1]. The Yahoo source[2] says a staggering 83 million records. These are the sources used in the article if you have sources with different figures discuss them on the talk page first. IMHO the picture about Britney smoking is tabloid journalism, it needs to be reference to a reliable source to give it context. Ask yourself

  • How does it improve the article about Britney,
  • What makes its inclusion a notable event
  • Is it encyclopedic coverage

unless it becomes a significant photo I'd say remove it. Gnangarra 06:29, 26 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'd follow you into Hell itself; I shall remove it. P.S. How about my other work? When you have the time of course. Horsemen4life (talk) 06:33, 26 July 2008 (UTC)Horsemen4life[reply]

I wouldnt as bus driver I get lost quite easily, even without thinking. Gnangarra
  • Also Admins dont have any editorial authority, they are just editors who do maintance tasks. When there is an issue with an article you discuss it on the talk page to gain consensus, if that doesnt work consider WP:RFC to get input from uninvolved editors. Gnangarra 06:35, 26 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
1) To be fair, I reverted the record sales due to vandalism by a different editor. That had nothing to do with Horsemen4life.
2) Horsemen4life, wikipedia administrators do not have to be consulted in order to remove unsourced or poorly sourced information - otherwise nothing on wikipedia would get done. In order to become more familiar with policy, please read Wikipedia:reliable source. That information quotes the following:

A random picture posted on a web page with no literary text written by a professional journalist or other notable professional to support it is in gross violation of wikipedia policy on biographies of living people. I understand you want to contribute to wikipedia and thats fantastic! However, BLPs have the highest standard for maintaining neutrality and basic human dignity. I personally monitor certain celebrity articles (such as the tabloid target Spears) for this exact reason. No hard feelings. Feel free to communicate with me any time. Thanks for your reply. Just trying to get people to come, and I applaud your going green! Have a good one. Hires an editor (talk) 14:30, 3 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

RE:how many[edit]

It not strictly a question of xxxx number of edits, its a question of how you've interacted with the community, what & how you've contributed, editors will consider how you dealt with disputes, how you've spoken to people. They also look for whether you've demonstrated policy knowedge at places like WP:AFD WP:DRV or notice board like WP:ANI or BLP noticeboard. Also commenting on things at rfc which are outside your normal editing sphere is also helpful. Gnangarra 09:51, 5 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Image source problem with Image:160px-Phi Beta Kappa Key.jpg[edit]

Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:160px-Phi Beta Kappa Key.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 16:10, 7 December 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. J Milburn (talk) 16:10, 7 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
