Creative Technologies

Thanks for rescuing it

Chrislk02, Thank you for rescuing my article, but can others edit it with me while it is in my drafts? I thought this was a crowdsourced definition, others in the field need time to add to it also. Please put it back up

Hi Chris, if you get this, will you please put the page back up. It is finished and I think it would be awkward to give other people the draft page when I already gave them the https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Creative_Technology_(discipline) url. Creative Technology (discipline)

Hey Idraves, when you created creative technology, it looks like what you performed was a cut and paste move. This is generally seen as undesirable because it doesn't retain the page history of the article, something that should be kept. Your account should be old enough to perform a move, but if you want I can perform the move for you. Hi Pishcal, I hop you can help me with that. I wasn't aware that I wasn't supposed to do it myself. If you see the conversation Chris deleted it while I was still putting content in and told me it could go back up once I had content in it. He offered to put it back up on Friday and I asked to take him up on that, but he didn't respond, so I did it myself. If you want to please feel free to perform the move from my drafts for me, but I did just make some edits to the new page after posting so would those be lost? I can copy them first?

The problem is I work in this field and the phrase "Creative technology" is often used in art, academic research and advertising, and covered amply in publications such as The Guardian and Forbes, not to mention AdWeek etc. -- but when people ask what it is, there is no easy way to saw "just look it up" although people in the industry use it all the time. I've copied your two edits into the draft so that the edit history will remain. However, before I move the page, are you sure that you want me to? It's generally a good idea to have somebody review the article before it's submitted to the main article space, just to make sure it isn't deleted again. If you'd like to submit your article to be reviewed over at the Articles for Creation process, add {{subst:submit}} to the top of your draft. Thank you User:Pishcal. I just submitted that article for review, can it still be edited in my drafts until that time? Did you get the impression that the article is not relevant or complete in some way, is that why you are suggesting this? The process takes three weeks; before I knew how bureacratic this process was I posted the page and invited a bunch of people to edit it, if they are trying to go to the page and edit it they will see nothing, and this is frustrating for me. As far as I know you can still edit the draft while it's up for review. I suggested submitting it for review because it didn't seem that anybody else had looked at your draft since the article had been deleted. Even if the AfC process may take a while, I would say that it's better than having your article deleted again. In the mean time, would you be opposed to the deletion of the Creative Technology (discipline) article that is currently in the main article space? OK User:Pishcal whatever you think is best - I have redirected my contacts to make changes to my draft page. There is some scary messaging on my draft page about draft:draft and preexisting pages that I don't understand - do I need to do anything else there? Upon looking further at this the Creative Technology (discipline) page is still up and therefore, I don't want to take the link for the disambiguation page off, as long as others agree the creative technology (discipline) page should be up. I don't understand what you're referring to, could you provide a link to something? I understand that User:Timtrent moved the page to have a Draft prefix, but I don't believe this will have an affect on anything. Pishcal — ♣ 16:07, 4 May 2015 (UTC)

That it exists now at Draft:Creative technologies has no effect at all on your discussion. It is simply the preferred location for submitted drafts. Please continue with whatever you were doing previously with it. Fiddle Faddle 16:12, 4 May 2015 (UTC)

Hello, Idraves here - I know I am not supposed to cut and paste content into the Creative Technology page, but I didn't see a way to move my existing page in drafts into the page after it was rejected for already existing. So I cut and paste. I realize that doesn't maintain the history that was on my drafts page.
