Le Mans[edit]

First off, one could equally ask why you insist on ignoring what several other experienced editors have asked you not to do, and further, ignored the discussions and explanations that have taken place on Talk:2014 24 Hours of Le Mans. Equally, why you assume that you, and you only, are the one acting in the best interest of any and all race fans is beyond me. Second, Wikipedia has its own guidelines, the Le Mans page does not belong to the fans and is not there for them to throw whatever they find interesting at it. We have guidelines on notability and weight, and attempt to not let articles become overrun with WP:FANCRUFT. Inputs are accepted, when they are fruitful, improve the article, and do not give WP:UNDUE weight to minor elements. Surely if your argument is "someone might be interested in it", your section is inadequate, and should be expanded to include all teams and drivers that are also making their first start at Le Mans. Except that too is, for the most part, a misnomer as many of the participants are simply taking part in the next round of the World Endurance Championship, and are in fact not debuting at Le Mans.

Finally, assume good faith in editors. If they are telling you that something is wrong, there is usually a good reason behind that. Assuming that someone is arrogant or not a race fan will get you nowhere. The359 (Talk) 19:40, 31 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Clearly I need to expand this. If you want to harass my talk page, then we're going to have a problem. The359 (Talk) 19:43, 31 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
After I have added the chapter the first time, within only one hour another editor added another car to it. So don't tell me that I'm the only one interested in new cars... I feel like in the Kindergarten right now... Good luck with your future deletions... --Indianapolis74 (talk) 19:51, 31 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
PS: And as already said: when people read about "Le Mans", they are interested in what happened AT LE MANS, they don't care whether that car drove at Sebring the same year, they want to know when it raced at Le mans for the first time... But why am I telling you this, you are anyway not understanding it... --Indianapolis74 (talk) 19:53, 31 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
WP:ILIKEIT is not reason enough to include content. The burden of notability is on the person adding the content. Further, no one is arguing that some people may be interested in new cars. That doesn't mean they warrant their own section on the article. Cars that are not new in general, making their first start at a specific race, is bordering on WP:FANCRUFT. Note, I am linking this guidelines and policies for your benefit, so that you can understand the reasoning behind why other non-anonymous editors have removed your edits and argued against their inclusion. Ok I got it, I understand that somehow my input is WP:ILIKEIT or WP:FANCRUFT. I won't add the chapter anymore as I see that I will have no chance with my contribution. Just again this question for you: So if you would write a complete summary about the Le Mans 24 Hours 2013 (yes, not 2014), would you really rate the following sentence as WP:FANCRUFT: "Since 2007 where Porsche presented the 997 GT3 RSR they finally bring their brand new model to Le Mans for the first time, the Porsche 991 GT3 RSR." What I try to understand with this question is, you can browse the official porsche.com website and see which models they declare as "new", as a new evolution, and the 991 is definitely a new evolution since the presentation of the 997 in 2007. So why should you not mention this in the article? Why should you not mention all new models (as stated by the make... From my point of view (and I'm for sure not the only one), this is no WP:FANCRUFT, it is pure neutral value to the article. --Indianapolis74 (talk) 23:37, 31 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Finally someone who understands what I wanted: see LM2013 Talk. --Indianapolis74 (talk) 06:46, 1 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I would rate that sentence as poor English that is difficult to understand, let alone able to be determined as cruft or not. We don't create lists of every new thing in the race because we're not a fan guide, and such a list would be cruft. And no, I don't believe you have someone who understands what you want. You need to learn the difference between "brief mention" and "list". The359 (Talk) 07:30, 1 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
oh my goodness, you are so smarter than all newbees here, I hope it really makes you happy to judge over others, in a real life talk you wouldn't have all these wikipedia privileges on your side :-) Have fun in this isolated world called Wiki.
