Jana Gana Mana

Hi, I have noticed that you have removed my edit for Jana Gana Mana that it was composed in Bengali and there is no such "hindi version" of the song. Can you please explain the reason for this? You can have a look at the link for more information: [1]. Please feel free to let me know if you have any questions. Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 94.207.132.169 (talk) 08:21, 18 August 2017 (UTC)

You removed five or so citations and claim one is better than the others? Take it to talk. Jim1138 (talk) 08:24, 18 August 2017 (UTC)

Adding 5 bad citations doesn't prove a fact, please refer to the official document from Govt. of India, where it clearly says "The composition consisting of the words and music of the first stanza of the late poet Rabindra Nath Tagore’s song known as “Jana Gana Mana” is the National Anthem of India." [2]. So the current description of "Hindi Version" is bit misleading. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rprasen09 (talkcontribs) 08:32, 18 August 2017 (UTC)

Sydney Flying Squadron

Hi Jim. Bit new to editing Wikipedia. The citation is from the Sydney Morning Herald in October 1891. Unfortunately it is not available online so cannot link. Is there another way I can cite the resource? It is also on the SFS website https://www.sydneyflyingsquadron.com.au/history/origin-of-18-footers/ Thanks Neville — Preceding unsigned comment added by NevilleT (talkcontribs) 08:41, 18 August 2017 (UTC)

@NevilleT: You don't need to add a link. Use the wp:template {{cite news}} The Wiki editor has the wp:reftoolbar/2.0 which can simplify things. Hope this helps! Cheers Jim1138 (talk) 08:57, 18 August 2017 (UTC)

Edits to Henry Rothstein

I edited the wikipedia page for Henry Rothstein because it was out of date and contained inappropriate and inaccurate material. By significantly editing down the entry but linking it to a constantly updated personal website I was ensuring the accuracy of the contribution, which should always be the goal of wikipedia. I would be grateful if we could revert to revised version. — Preceding unsigned comment added by My74 (talkcontribs) 08:39, 18 August 2017 (UTC)

FK Mladost

Hi! Can you make page FK Mladost redirect to FK Mladost Podgorica Explanation: recently someone created "disambiguation page" for FK Mladost instead of redirecting to primary article FK MLADOST PODGORICA. The problem is that Mladost already has redirection page -> Mladost, and there is no need for another one. "FK" stands for Football Club in Montenegrin (fudbalski klub). There is no other significant fudbal klubs than Mladost from Podgorica, the list shows bundle of amateur or third league clubs that addopted the same name. Mladost from Podgorica was founded back in 1949 and plays regularly in UEFA competitions, while the rest of clubs were formed in recent 10 years. That would be same like e.g. Juventus_FC not to redirect to Juventus F.C., but to offer unnecessary disambiguation page which lists SC Juventus Bucureşti at the first place and Juventus Turin somewhere on the bottom. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.155.37.170 (talk) 08:42, 20 August 2017 (UTC)

Japan as a High-Tech Nation

Jim, I noticed you challenged some contributions I wrote on wikipedia back in November, but you do not seem sensible or rational about it; are you suggesting Japan is not a world-leader in High-Teck industries and services? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 210.254.80.146 (talk) 13:21, 20 August 2017 (UTC)

(talk page stalker) I think the problem is that the prose "with the benefit of the excellent quality and standards of Japan`s High-Tech industry" isn't really meaningful in the context of the Japan Registry Service. Sure, Japan is one of the most developed high-tech nations in the world, but I don't see how that directly affects a domain name registrar. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 13:37, 20 August 2017 (UTC)

Stop icon with clock
You have been blocked from editing for a period of 24 hours for edit warring and violating the three-revert rule, as you did at Will Wilkinson. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may request an unblock by first reading the guide to appealing blocks, then adding the following text to the bottom of your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.

During a dispute, you should first try to discuss controversial changes and seek consensus. If that proves unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection.  Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 11:20, 20 August 2017 (UTC)

Your talk page is full of unanswered or badly answered questions from confused newbies. Please lay off the maintenance parts of the project and concentrate on writing content., as you don't appear to have the appropriate communication skills at this time. Sorry. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 11:32, 20 August 2017 (UTC)

@Ritchie333: I accept the block. I think if you look at the newbie talk pages, you will find most of the questions answered; or at least an attempt. Jim1138 (talk) 19:45, 20 August 2017 (UTC)
As you have acknowledged the block was legitimate (basically I couldn't block the other party without blocking you as well as it would be unfair) and that I expect you not to continue the edit war, I will unblock. Don't go anywhere near Will Wilkinson's article otherwise you might well get a longer reblock from another admin. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 21:26, 20 August 2017 (UTC)

HELP

Recently you and some other wiki users have been editing in some inaccurate and defaming information onto Chandini Sreedharan' s wiki page. The article which is being cited and used as reference is misleading and false. She is a public figure and such false information could really affect her career badly. Please remove the content and help in carrying forth the page in positive manner.

reverted an edit on "Dhaka"

@Jim1138: Hello! I had to reverse your edit on "Dhaka" because the national airport is actually known as Hazrat shahjalal international airport, not the one that you reverted back into. But Mistake Does Happen. I guess you took it as vandalism, but it actually isn't! Check out that page, the title might be different, but it's referred to by that name in that very same article. DarkSpartan (talk) 17:14, 21 August 2017 (UTC)

@DarkSpartan: That's fine, but the article is named Shahjalal International Airport and not Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport. So, either the article should be moved or the link should be [[Shahjalal International Airport|Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport]]. Generally, wp:piping to the same name such as [[Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport|Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport]] is cumbersome and unnecessary. Though, it probably doesn't make any difference in the final compiled server html. Jim1138 (talk) 18:39, 21 August 2017 (UTC)

Ian Boldsworth edits

I am representing Ian's online material and social media, and made the changes on the page as they were fan added with superfluous information. For example, the section about the Peacock & Gamble Podcast has a lengthy explanation of one of the hundreds of shows P&G performed which essentially clogs up the page. The list of Warm Up and TV credits was streamlined to not include shows that were one-offs or uncommissioned, and edits were made to outdated/incorrectly titled radio shows. In short, I made the page more concise and removed irrelevant information, as the page is already overwhelmingly detailed. It also incorrectly refers to him as Peacock several times which is no longer his name.

  1. Wikipedia can be edited (within wp:policy) by anyone.
  2. If the information is from a wp:reliable source, is wp:notable, and is not in violation of wp:BLP, there is no reason that it should not be on the page.
  3. You have a wp:conflict of interest and probably should not be editing the page.
  4. As you have a COI, please use an wp:edit request and don't edit the page directly.

Women's rights in North Korea

Please do not revert the changes without discussion on talk. If you think something has been lost, then bring that content back yourself. But the original state of the article was very poor. The tone was unencyclopedic; it relied primarily on that Guardian article of questionable quality (even if the Guardian is a RS you can't built a whole WP article only on a newspaper article). Feel free to improve this article, but please do not simply revert it to the way it was - which was a very poor state. See Talk:Women's_rights_in_North_Korea

Changes to a very poor article (as Women's rights in North Korea initially was) should not be reverted just because the new version is not perfect and needs further improvement (and you are free to improve the article yourself). 2A02:2F01:502F:FFFF:0:0:6465:434C (talk) 05:34, 22 August 2017 (UTC)

Hi there. I reverted one of your edits on Khadija bint Khuwaylid because it seemed to be the result of a misunderstanding. Taghut is the specific definition of idolatry within the context of Islam, but the redirection of the link to that page seems to have been misinterpreted as an unexplained removal of content. I reinstated the change, but if I made an error in understanding the intention of your revert, please feel free to undo it, and we can discuss it further. AlexEng(TALK) 22:50, 23 August 2017 (UTC)

Information icon Hello, I'm Andreas Evando P. I just knew that you reverted one of my recent contributions —the one I made with this edit to 2018 Asian Games— I'm telling you that's Official! Ika is now changed to Kaka. You can see it in their offical website. So please, you reverted my edit back. Thanks.

@Andreas Evando P: My apologies. Do they know what wikt:caca is? I presume that Kaka is pronounced similarly. You can probably understand my revert and warning from the Wiktionary entry... I see that you have undone my edits already. Cheers Jim1138 (talk) 19:00, 27 August 2017 (UTC)

Motorheard/Bowie cover

You have time to sit there and make over 200 edits in three hours, but are not able to do a Google search of "Motorhead Heroes", which would take approximately 6 seconds, and turn up these :

If you're interested in factual information, find one you like, add it, and reinstate the information. I'm sick of you people. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.224.73.109 (talk) 12:50, 27 August 2017 (UTC)

The wp:BURDEN is on you. You apparently knew where the wp:reliable source is. It would be much less work for you to add the wp:citation than someone else. Please don't expect others to bring your edits up to Wikipedia wp:Policy. Jim1138 (talk) 18:51, 27 August 2017 (UTC)

I don't live here like some people. I offer CORRECT information when I see it can be added. I added correct information to the page. You removed it purely on the basis of WP guidelines. You have chosen (predictably) from the options listed above. Your name is attached to the removal of the (correct and factual) data. Works for me. I'm done here. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.224.73.109 (talk) 19:15, 27 August 2017 (UTC)

I have no idea whether your information is correct or not. If you add a citation per wp:verifiability then it's easy to verify. If you are not willing to add citations, and I won't do it for you, expect your edits to be undone. I guess I'll have to check the rest of your edits for sources and remove unsourced info per wp:V Jim1138 (talk) 19:20, 27 August 2017 (UTC)

I gave you several links which you could look at. The YouTube video has a million and half views. But please, don't bother yourself with any of that. Go "fix" all of my "mistakes" instead. It's clearly why you're here. Thank you, from all of us, for shouldering such a "burden". — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.224.73.109 (talk) 19:42, 27 August 2017 (UTC)

Not my responsibility. Again see wp:BURDEN. If you don't like it, I would suggest not editing Wikipedia. Jim1138 (talk) 20:47, 27 August 2017 (UTC)

Hey, like I said, I'm more than content to just let your name be attached to it all. I would also suggest you NOT suggest what I should and should not do. We clear on that? Because I can take it further up the chain if you like. Just let me know. Happy to oblige on that. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.224.73.109 (talk) 20:56, 27 August 2017 (UTC)

Thom Nickels

Jim,

I deleted the Philadelphia Inquirer entry because that was obviously added by an enemy of the author's. It is unnecessarily negative and overwrought. The same applies to the American headdress entry. It is not balanced. I added two or three new books because the list of published works is not complete. I can add links later. Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by JudeThom (talkcontribs) 05:01, 29 August 2017 (UTC)

USS John S. McCain (DDG-56)

Dear Jim. Thanks for your message re. USS John S. McCain (DDG-56). I'd politely ask you to look at the article again, specifically the source at the end of the sentence http://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/china-protests-us-ship-sailing-island-south-china-49149844 . The edit I made is supported in the source used there. I think you should consider a self revert. 82.39.49.182 (talk) 07:44, 30 August 2017 (UTC)

When I click on that link, it goes to the abcnews.go.com home page. I don't see how China's objection is relevant to the collision. Jim1138 (talk) 07:50, 30 August 2017 (UTC)
Ah the link has been updated. Try this one http://www.news.com.au/world/china-protests-challenges-us-warship-near-its-artificial-islands/news-story/43784e65f8ab6461cbfad7d5a748775e. Collision? The section discussed is about the ship's activities before the collision. 82.39.49.182 (talk) 07:53, 30 August 2017 (UTC)
It's about the collision, not the China protest. Discussion should be on the talk page. I disagree that it should be added. Jim1138 (talk) 07:55, 30 August 2017 (UTC)
The article is about the ship. Not only the collision . 82.39.49.182 (talk) 07:56, 30 August 2017 (UTC)

i recently made changes to Mystykali by removing a template, it clearly stated that if someone wished to edit and fix this issue they may remove the template/message, after i did so you notified me with a notice, can you tell me where i went wrong? and whats the best way going about handling this? it clearly stated that if you wish to edit page you can remove template. thanks

@Mystykali: You linked to fathead which is a wp:disambiguation page. From your message, I presume you were not being uncivil. I have been undoing a lot of name-calling today. I assumed you were also. My apology. There are three different music-related "Fathead". You should link to one of those. Also, "related" should be sourced. Per wp:verifiability, please wp:cite a wp:reliable source supporting this. Please feel free to remove the speedy deletion. I had not noticed that you removed that. I see, the guy changing battle results to VC victories. Jim1138 (talk) 06:55, 5 September 2017 (UTC)
Yes indeed, because the VC and PAVN never lost... I will see if I can figure out how to use Huggle. regards Mztourist (talk) 07:20, 5 September 2017 (UTC)

Re: Timeline of women's sports revision

You reverted my revision stating it did not contribute, however this was an event in Australian sporting history so is that not just a subjective matter if your only reason was whether it was of importance? Given that it did occur why would you not include it? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Wikiupdatesaus (talkcontribs) 15:15 5 September 2017 (UTC)

@Wikiupdatesaus: That edit was in January. Not sure why I undid it three minutes later. What I can see now is that you added 53k w/o any explanation, the 21st century section was duplicated, there were two External links, See also, and Notes section. If you add something, please make sure the result is properly formatted. Use the wp:show preview to check your work. Also, please leave an wp:edit summary and sign your talk with four tildes "~~~~" Which adds links to your pages and a time stamp as with mine at the end here. Cheers Jim1138 (talk) 17:32, 5 September 2017 (UTC)

Given I cannot format it myself I would greatly appreciate if you could put the event back into history for me without the mistake I made! :) Thank you so much :)

@Wikiupdatesaus: I am not really sure what you added. It sort of looks like you duplicated everything. If you look at the table of contents (TOC) on your edit, every section is duplicated:
  1. Early history
  2. 18th century
  3. 19th century
  4. Early history
  5. 18th century
  6. 19th century
  7. 20th century
  8. 21st century
  9. See also
  10. Notes
  11. References
  12. External links
  13. 21st century
  14. See also
  15. Notes
  16. References
  17. External links

I've looked at a number of entries in the sections and haven't seen anything in one that is not in the other. I'm sorry, but I don't have the time to compare all the entries which, counting both the original and duplicate entries, there are at least 400. You will need to do this on your own. Sorry Jim1138 (talk) 01:20, 6 September 2017 (UTC)

I'm not quite a new user

Thank you for your greeting https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User_talk:81.97.130.211&redirect=no but even in that guise I am not a new user.

I sometimes just edit something without logging in if it is a simple typo.

PS if you can give me some tips on how to track down a page I'm sure I contributed to recently but has now vanished completely, including any edits I did on its talk page, I'd be grateful

As you can see from my 'proper' page I am far from a new user Cannonmc (talk) 13:43, 4 September 2017 (UTC)

@Cannonmc: I often leave a welcome hoping that an IP will get an account and do some serious editing. You have far exceeded expectations! Jim1138 (talk) 17:46, 4 September 2017 (UTC)

A good idea, get as many to join in as possible Cannonmc (talk) 07:48, 6 September 2017 (UTC)

Editing Modern Family

Hi,

I deleted some sentences in the 'Modern Family' wiki. I kept in the same sources. How can I change it to what I had originally?

Thankyou,

Cartoonlamb (talk) 08:09, 6 September 2017 (UTC)

You Should Not Use Huggle.

As Huggle may try to correct all of the mistakes, you should stop because you can sometimes break images, links, or sources just by using it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Thechinesekid (talkcontribs) 09:49, 6 September 2017 (UTC)

Thechinesekid, you do not have the experience needed to be making these kinds of recommendations. If Jim breaks something with Huggle he is responsible abd should be going back and fixing it. ~ GB fan 10:52, 6 September 2017 (UTC)

John Motson

Hi Jim - I think you have made a mistake removing my edit from the John Motson entry, I made the change as I had personal knowledge of his first appearance in a FIFA game being FIFA 96 not 97 as originally stated. I also found a source to back this up and included it in the references after the paragraph regarding his commentary on FIFA games. Thanks 89.197.51.220 (talk) 12:05, 6 September 2017 (UTC)

Cam Guthrie

My source is myself and many many others living in Guelph who have experienced Guthrie's comtempt for his public. I am the source, my neighbours are the source, my neighbourhood is the source, my city is the source, it's what people talk about when they talk about Guthrie. What do you mean by source?? Newspaper?? Guelph does not have one. Put it back in please. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2607:FEA8:95E0:EF5:FD99:9905:F4E1:94C (talk) 05:35, 11 September 2017 (UTC)

Less than neutral?

Part of the WP experience is to provide factual information. How can it be justified that a source that is fundamentally wrong in assuming that all film attendees especially in the 1920s were American or as the term would imply having citizenship. There is no way in the world that anyone can qualify the use of American being the only attendees especially when immigration was so high at the time. Therefore if the source is fundamental wrong then it should be qualified which can be done by either saying that they are people instead of Americans, because we are talking about attendance in the US, or put quotes around "American" to indicate that that is the term used in the source although it is most likely incorrect.2605:E000:9161:A500:3832:5234:5BA4:7DB6 (talk) 05:51, 11 September 2017 (UTC)

IEEPA

The existence of each IEEPA emergency is verifiable from its original order. A citation to the renewal in a particular year is just as likely to be invalid as the original. Including text to say when an order "will" expire (though not really) can easily mislead someone to believing the emergency has expired when it has not.

PS: please don't misuse revert rationales. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.7.14.87 (talk) 06:53, 11 September 2017 (UTC)

@Prefix-NA:(talk page stalker) Please either retract this accusation and threat or explain why(eg provide examples of edits that were propaganda or vandalism) you think Jytdog is violating policy, as unsubstantiated accusations of vandalism or POV-pushing (see [1]) are considered personal attacks and are not tolerated, also, don't use a trout for policy violations, a trout is only for well-intentioned silly mistakes. Tornado chaser (talk) 22:11, 11 September 2017 (UTC) Thank you for retracting this unsupported accusation, warning users who are doing something wrong is fine, but you need to state a real reason why what they are doing is wrong. Nordica

Are you sure the long explanation about the name origins and relationship between nordics and balts is necessary on an airline page? Just thinking. Mistersun (talk) 07:09, 13 September 2017 (UTC)

@Mistersun: The IP removed it again with an ES. I'm a bit quick on stuff like that. But then, the editor really should leave an ES so others don't have to put the puzzle together. BTW: please leave a link to the page in question? I probably looked at several hundred pages since then. Cheers Jim1138 (talk) 07:17, 13 September 2017 (UTC)

Removing work

You've reverted crucial work that has been done in order to stop the spread of Proto-chronist propaganda. Another user by the username of "My name is not dave" has verified my edits and thanked me for the contribution. Removal of such edits is counter-productive and pointless.

Further disruptions will not be tolerated. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Honved2018 (talkcontribs) 06:39, 13 September 2017 (UTC)

@Honved2018: Really? Are you referring to My name is not dave's edit here undoing your edit with an edit summary of Undid revision 800232144 by Honved2018 (talk), unexplained removal of content? Jim1138 (talk) 06:45, 13 September 2017 (UTC)

That edit was made before I cleared things up with the user; they've thanked me and verified my edit. So no, I'm not referring to that edit, to answer your question. You can message them if you'd like proof; I strongly recommend it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Honved2018 (talkcontribs) 06:54, 13 September 2017 (UTC)

@Honved2018: You can leave a diff here with that thank you note. I'm not going do disturb not dave. Jim1138 (talk) 06:56, 13 September 2017 (UTC)

That's an easy way to get out of it, but I don't know how to show you the notification/alert, so it's the only option from where I can see. I'll inform him to message you if you'd like, he's a friendly fellow. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Honved2018 (talkcontribs) 07:01, 13 September 2017 (UTC)

@Honved2018: I have no interest in doing your footwork. I am rather dubious as well. See wp:notifications and wp:diff Jim1138 (talk) 07:04, 13 September 2017 (UTC)

Never asked you to do any "footwork", I told you to ask Dave if you'd like proof; it's solely up to you, but it's clear to me now that you can't even work that out. You're refusing to, because you know that you're wrong. As for being "dubious", you can be whatever you like, including someone who prides themself over meaningless stars and time spent on Wikipedia; things I care little for. You can keep trying to be smart for as long as you want, but you're only wasting your own time in the end; so there's no point in continuing. The irony merely serves as cheap entertainment for me.

I'll inform Dave to lecture you when he's free. Clearly you're another editor who edits articles he has no actual interest in, which is a shame, because I didn't expect people to be so childish on here. I'll be sure to report you if you continue any more of this asinine behaviour; it isn't worth risking yourself for a couple of stars.

But enjoy your evening, mate. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Honved2018 (talkcontribs) 07:31, 13 September 2017 (UTC)

@Honved2018: I thanked you for your edit because you used the edit summary to explain why you were deleting it. Now, that does not mean that I raised suspicion at your edits. They seemed a little POV-like, but because I do not know anything about the topic, I left it for someone else to judge. Clearly my initial suspicion was right. PopWrapped edit

Thank you for pointing out the reliable source and for the reference pages. Learning something new everyday. THBAO (talk) 06:07, 13 September 2017 (UTC) @Jim1138: Hello again. I have a few questions and would like your opinion/guidance about a matter on this article. THBAO (talk) 21:37, 13 September 2017 (UTC)

I removed it because it was politically motivated outsourced material. Wikipedia is about accuracy and labeling someone things he isn't because he is a bad person is slander. You wouldn't Edit Stalin's wikipedia page to say he ate live baby kittens just because he is a bad person. And I would appreciate it if you made sourced arguments instead of politically motivated posts. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Prefix-NA (talkcontribs) 20:49, 11 September 2017 (UTC)

@Prefix-NA: It has multiple sources. See wp:NPOV for why 'biased' information may be added. This is a biography and not a hagiography; it's warts and all. Jim1138 (talk) 20:58, 11 September 2017 (UTC)
@Jim1138: Your sources are not sources for the statement but simply a journalists opinion about an issue. He states multiple times he does not believe whites are superior to others, therefor calling him a white supremacist because a journalist called him so is blatant bias. Wikipedia is written from a neutral perspective all statements should be true, not politically motivated. Prefix-NA (talk) 22:19, 11 September 2017 (UTC)
@Prefix-NA: This belongs on talk:Christopher Cantwell, not here. Jim1138 (talk) 22:22, 11 September 2017 (UTC)
@Jim1138:

You and I both know your citations are irrelevant. Your article was merely a journalist calling someone a white supremacist, it made no mention about why he was or evidence that he was. You have a long history of edit warring many articles with false information and when people correct you then you just edit war them. Stop edit warring and cite sources for the actual claim. Unless you have actual evidence of someone being a white supremacist do not libel people as such .You are intentionally lying to spread propaganda messages for your world view and you are not doing wikipedia a service. Prefix-NA (talk) 00:34, 14 September 2017 (UTC)

@Prefix-NA: It's multiple people calling Cantwell a white supremacist. If you google it, you will find many, many more. He associates with known white supremacists. What "proof" do you want? As you may have noticed your removal of the information with my additional citations was restored by another citing wp:GNG. Don't like it? Jim1138 (talk) 02:40, 14 September 2017 (UTC)
@Jim1138: And David Icke says Trump & Obama were reptilians. People saying it doesn't make it so. Your citations had nothing about him being one it was just a journalist saying Chris did something & called him one. A citation would be needed to explain where he is one. He claims he isn't and there is no evidence he is. He states multiple times he believes Asians have higher IQ than whites & he has had black guest speakers on his show. A citation from CNN saying white supremacist Chris Cantwell was jailed is not a citation for him being a white supremacist its a article saying he was jailed & journalist calling him a term. Prefix-NA (talk) 02:46, 14 September 2017 (UTC)

thank you

Tara McDonald not born in UK

Tara was not born in the UNited kingdom. Birth records prove she was not born anywhere south of the 59th parallel. you british patriates need to stop this crap now, it's getting olld. I've already won a sute against Daniel Andreas Williams, the editor of the Tara McDonald website, and it's soon to reflect her real birth place, coordinates 70.6632° N, 23.6817° E If you look at birth records for England and Wales, as well as the Dartford area for the date of September 9th, 1988, you will see there is no Tara Jane McDonald or any varriation o fthat name on any babies born in any nearby hospital, or any hospital ni the uNited Kingdom for that matter. www.genesreunited.co.za/search/results?sourcecategory=life%20events%20(bmds)&collection=births%20utf0026%20baptisms&datasetname=england%20utf0026%20wales%20births%201837-2006&firstname=tara&firstname_variants=true&lastname=mcdonald&birthyear=1988&birth no Tara McDonalds born in 1988 in England or Wales. thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 199.101.62.55 (talk) 05:43, 14 September 2017 (UTC)

TomWatkins1970 sockpuppet vandalising Bros pages

Hi, thanks for reverting the edits on Matt Goss. I have opened (another) sock puppet investigation against this user here - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Sockpuppet_investigations/TomWatkins1970 . They have been doing this (though on other Bros articles) for on a year now, as well as vandalising other articles. I suggest you don't refer the IP addresses used by this user to the request administrator assistance against vandalism page, as then they are only likely to be blocked temporarily. Although it is frustrating, I think the better strategy is to wait until the sock puppet investigation is dealt with (could take up to a week), as then this user's IP addresses are more likely to be indefinitely blocked. Be aware, this user is persistent, and is prone to accusing those who revert/report their vandalism as being vandals, and in my case, "kiddie fiddler" and apparently I've also been in prison! They (I think it is a he) also vandalised my user page at one point. I have requested page protection for the Matt Goss article, but the admins are being slow today it seems.Nqr9 (talk) 07:44, 14 September 2017 (UTC)

@Nqr9: Much thanks! I hate sock reports. Are you the left sock or the right sock? ] Cheers Jim1138 (talk) 07:47, 14 September 2017 (UTC)
This user drives me batty. But I'm used to it now. I wish the admins here would either take more notice, or be onto it much faster than they currently respond to it. I would also mention that these are vandalism-only accounts in future requests for admin assistance. They have umpteen accounts and IP addresses - some they started using for vandalising other articles as far back as 2013. They are deranged!Nqr9 (talk) 07:50, 14 September 2017 (UTC)

hi Jim, this is jordd94 responding to your message regarding the wikipedia page of Jordan Lussey. This is my wiki page and I am correcting all wrong information. The IP address has contacted me to express their concern at your editing pattern, ie you reverted their contributions to the page 'Imgur' more than three times. I have explained to them that this rule does not apply to banned socks. That said, it looks as if you reverted using Huggle, so will not have been aware of the outcome of the SPI. I shall not be doing anything about this, but would—if I were you—refrain from doing more than two reverts in this sort of situation, or you may be dragged along to ANI by someone who is not already blocked. I cannot imagine that you want this. –Sb2001 talk page 22:14, 13 September 2017 (UTC)

@Sb2001: Been there I have been dealing with this anon for quite awhile and am aware of the SPI. This anon has been complaining to many, wasting much of their time. Thanks for the note. Jim1138 (talk) 22:26, 13 September 2017 (UTC)

@Sb2001: There are some rather strange people about. I would think there are many potential psych PhD thesis to be had. The editors chasing them down (such as me), would likely make good thesis subjects too. There seem to be too many admins who seem more interested in the rule of the law than the content of Wikipedia and the editors improving content. Wikipedia is one of the largest, if not the largest volunteer organizations and, perhaps other than Scientology, probably treats them the worst. There are some idiots on here! I am weighing up trying to bring them into a more appropriate line-of-behaviour, or ignoring them and leaving them to other editors ... or a block.
