Migratory birds[edit]

I think one problem with the migrant category is that many species are only partially migratory. Although say House Martin is clearly a migrant by any standard, the Common Starling is resident over much of its range, and Northern Lapwings are resident in western Europe. If you include partial migrants as migratory birds, why not Goldfinch, Chaffinch and many other species which evacuate part of their range in winter, or make cross-border cold weather movements? jimfbleak 05:59, 14 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for reply, it wasn't a crticism, I think migratory birds is a useful category, and your solution helps to clarify this somewhat problematic definition. Jim

Welcome to WikiProject Electronics[edit]

Welcome Snafflekid. I (we) hope you will enjoy editing and helping on this project. Its good to have someone who knows about semiconductor physics on board.--Light current 23:36, 29 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Just noticed your hidden comment. When transistors were first invented isnt it true that these were all bipolar types and the FET came along (much) later?--Light current 00:46, 4 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Transistor[edit]

Hi. Im a little concerned about the lead para where it talks about the o/p current being prop to the input voltage (Vbe?). Well, we all know in a BJT its prop to exp(Vin). Can you think of alternative wording?--Light current 01:13, 5 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

New Article[edit]

hi. thanks. So do you think it is a gud idea to start an article on the Transistor models? I just provided a link to the transistor#see also main page --Davy Jones 07:03, 16 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Yes. I'm sure a discussion of circuit design would need to mention them. Snafflekid 08:04, 16 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! I need to know if there is any chance of this image being available in a larger format, especially a high-resolution image? A publisher is interested in using this image, so if you can direct me to the appropriate site or source, I would greatly appreciate it. - Amgine 00:59, 30 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • Just to let you know We recieved a complaint from the original publishers of this image, and since it didn't seem to have been released (or used!) as a "promotional" image I've removed it accordingly. Shimgray | talk | 16:33, 17 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for correcting my heading mistake on the 4-H article. I did re-nest the Native American imagery section under Camping.

I think that it's widely recognized that 4-H is a Scouting. That article, in fact, says as much. Having been involved in 4-H at a national level, and can tell you that there are 4-H camping events across the country. They are not usually supported by clubs, however. They are usually arranged on state or county levels, by the Extension Service.

It wouldn't be appropriate to separate out either the Camping or Native American imagery sections. There isn't much content to expand either at this point, and even if there was, those sections would remain in the article as introductions.

Take care. Justen 22:04, 22 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Your VandalProof Request[edit]

Thank you for applying for VandalProof!. As you may know, VP is a very powerful program, and in fact the just released 1.3 version has even more power. Because of this we must uphold strict protocols before approving a new applicant. Regretfully, I have chosen to decline your application at this time. The reason for this is that: "...inexperience with handling vandalism brings into question the user's ability to combat disruption using such a powerful program..." .

Please note it is nothing personal by any means, and we certainly welcome you to apply again soon; furthermore, this is a borderline decline, and if you get down to some Vandalism reverting within the next few days, I invite you to contact me again and I will most likely approve you.

Thank you for your interest in VandalProof,

I Mean it is not so important macrotaxonomy, if you watch russian site will be found an opinion, if you see german other and so on, Many times I found it is better development of wikiprojects slowly, obviously emglish goes faster, german also goes well --Penarc 21:12, 5 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Wikiproject Electronics collaboration[edit]

Hi, I am writing to you because you have listed yourself as a member of the Electronics WikiProject. Sadly, this project is pretty dead, but I propose to resuscitate it with a collaboration. The idea is to have a concerted effort on improving one article per month, hopefully to GA or FA status and nominate the very best of them for the front page. I have prepared a page to control this process at Wikipedia:WikiProject Electronics/Collaboration (actually, I mostly shamelessly stole it from Wikipedia:WikiProject Mammals where a collaboration of this sort was succesfully run). There you can make nominations for articles for collaboration or comment on the nominations of others.

If you want to take part you might like to place this template {{WikiProject Electronics Collaboration}} on your userpage which will give you a link to the current collaboration. If you are no longer interested in Wikiproject Electronics, please remove yourself from the members list, which is now at Wikipedia:WikiProject Electronics/Members

Thanks for listening, SpinningSpark 14:22, 23 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of Melanin theory[edit]

The article Melanin theory has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

This is a page about a highly-biased yet not notable theory.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Fazbear7891 (talk) 21:24, 26 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Nomination of Melanin theory for deletion[edit]

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Melanin theory is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Melanin theory until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. Fazbear7891 (talk) 20:48, 27 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
