File permission problem with File:Jeff Wassmann.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Jeff Wassmann.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Fut.Perf. 07:43, 18 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Images[edit]

You have uploaded pictures of artwork credited both to Jeff ("Johann Dieter") Wassmann and to Mary Schepisi, but tagging them all as your own copyright. Can you please explain how this is possible? Also, could you please re-tag the items credited to "Johann Dieter" so as to make it clear they are in fact modern, not 19th century works, because otherwise people will get confused thinking they should be in the public domain for their age. Thank you, – Fut.Perf. 07:52, 18 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

All images relating to the fictional character Johann Dieter Wassmann have been retagged "Jeff Wassmann (contemporary artist) acting as fictional artist:" per your request. Both artists have agreed to share these images of their work according to Creative CommonsAttribution 3.0. The Mary Schepisi images were mistakenly listed as a different license and have since been changed. These images are widely available on Flickr and elsewhere. I will forward Declaration of Consent letters from both to Wikipedia. As to the images of Mr. Wassmann, I took these photographs of the artist several years ago in Melbourne, so I am the copyright holder. Sophievogt (talk) 10:18, 18 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, thanks for your understanding. Fut.Perf. 11:04, 18 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for keeping a close watch. All your comments were quite valid and appreciated, particularly regarding clarification of the fictional nature of the Wassmann character.Sophievogt (talk) 11:08, 18 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

File copyright problem with File:Jeff_Wassmann.jpg[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Jeff_Wassmann.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright and licensing status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can verify that it has an acceptable license status and a verifiable source. Please add this information by editing the image description page. You may refer to the image use policy to learn what files you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. The page on copyright tags may help you to find the correct tag to use for your file. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please also check any other files you may have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Chris G Bot (talk) 03:01, 29 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Upload permissions[edit]

Did you ever upload image permissions per WP:CONSENT as you stated that you intended to do here? Calliopejen1 (talk) 20:42, 1 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

My apologies, I was under the impression both parties had forwarded file permission forms, but this is apparently not the case. I know Ms. Schepisi is at the Rome Film Festival so it may take several days to contact her. Mr. Wassmann has not been well but I have emailed him and he will try again to submit file permissions late today. Regards, Sophievogt (talk) 03:12, 2 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Mr. Wassmann has advised me that he has sent through the permission form (permissions-en@wikimedia.org) for the 39 images that you questioned and that he is the copyright holder to. I believe he granted Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0, which may not be the exact attribution of the original upload, so I hope we can make that change when the email is received or reviewed. I have been unable to contact Ms. Schepisi to clarify permissions for the remaining images, but will continue trying. Regards, Sophievogt (talk) 06:26, 2 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Ms. Schepisi has now forwarded all remaining permissions requested. Sophievogt (talk) 10:00, 3 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Great, thanks! Calliopejen1 (talk) 20:08, 3 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hasselblad Award[edit]

Regarding Hasselblad Award on Josef Koudelka, apologies, I was reading things back to front, I can see what you mean, and I know this already, but mistakenly thought you were doing the opposite. -Lopifalko (talk)
