Marc Cary[edit]

Hi and welcome to Wikipedia. I reverted your edits because it appears much of what you added was copied-and-pasted from Marc Cary's website (http://marccary.com/bio/). Wikipedia can't accept copyrighted material in articles. You could use this page as a source for the article, but direct copying of text is not permitted. -- Rrburke (talk) 18:32, 5 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, again. The source page reads "© 2014 Marc Cary" meaning that, as a copyrighted work, it isn't suitable for Wikipedia. For it to be accepted on Wikipedia, you would have to 1) prove you are the copyright holder using a process called the Open-source Ticket Request System (not as bad as it sounds), and 2) agree to publish the text under a free license, for example the Creative Commons CC-BY-SA 3.0 license.
In addition, the text would have be rewritten to sound like an encyclopedia article rather than a promotional piece.
I'm afraid there's another obstacle, though: in general, you're not supposed to be writing on topics to which you have a close personal or professional connection. This is known as conflict of interest, and conflict-of-interest editing is strongly discouraged. A better approach would be to go to the article's talk page and post the information you think is missing from the article and ask someone else to add it, making clear that you're refraining from doing that yourself because you have a conflict of interest.
If you're stuck, or you have any further questions about what I've written, please feel free to drop me a line on my talk page. -- Rrburke (talk) 22:07, 5 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
