File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:WBR 06 Swansea.JPG. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, we also need to know the terms of the license that the copyright holder has published the file under, usually done by adding a licensing tag. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged files may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the file will be deleted 48 hours after 21:26, 9 February 2010 (UTC). Hi Dave, I'm having a few problems with uploading pictures - I keep recieving messages saying I haven't properly sourced or copyrighted my pictures - I think I may have had some from other people too. They are created by me with my digital camera, and I don't know how to edit them for sourcing/copyrighting now I've uploaded them. I also don't know what to put once I CAN edit them for sourcing/copyrighting! I'm new to this - can you help please?! Thanks, User:Timstickley

The license tag you've added now is fine - that's the main thing that was needed. For completeness, I would recommend adding an explicit statement to the effect of "I created this photo myself" to the image page; it's not absolutely necessary right now, but if someone transfers it to Commons (to include it in other wikipedias), that can become a bureacratic sticking point. Also useful, if you want to take the time, would be to use the {{Information}} template, to organize the details. --dave pape (talk) 05:38, 10 February 2010 (UTC)

Superb - you're a hero, thanks! Are you an editor? If so, I'm having a few problems with uploading pictures - I keep recieving messages saying I haven't properly sourced or copyrighted my pictures. I blush :) As for the title: we are all editors, but I'm not an administrator, so I don't have any special privileges. Regarding the image issue I'm woefully (or blessedly) lacking in experience. I can see that you added a licensing tag to the image about which you had received an admonishing message. If you want to be on the safe side, you should probably ask the editor who left you the message. Favonian (talk) 23:03, 9 February 2010 (UTC)

Me again. Couldn't help noticing that you left your the message for Dave on your own talk page. It's probably better to leave it on User talk:Davepape. When you upload a page use the "own work" option. Then there is a licencing scroll down menu which you have to use to avoid the rude messages. It is best to select the option that is recommended - cant remember which it is but it is obvious. For the ones already loaded, just go in to edit the picture and copy in the bit in sqiggly brackets that the message suggested. If you plan to add lots of pictures, you may want to load them onto Wikipedia Commons so they can be used on other language versions. Apart from the hassle of switching into commons, which can be done via the main page, it is exactly the same process. Good luck Motmit (talk) 18:31, 10 February 2010 (UTC)

Moyles Court School moved to draftspace

Howdy - I see you are in the process of expanding this, but I would suggest doing so in draftspace. If an article that is so unfinished and undersourced is in mainspace, the likelihood that someone will take issue with it is very substantial. Please do move this back into mainspace once there are at least sufficient refs to demonstrate notability; you may want to have a look at this guideline.
