Hi. I'm afraid that I reverted (i.e. deleted) the material you added to this article. In looking at the single source it is based I, I found numerous instances where material had been taken directly from that article, and others in which the paraphrasing was too close for comfort. Please read WP:COPYVIO for Wikipedia's policies on copyright violation, which we take very seriously. The executive summary is that you can never simply copy-and-paste from another website unless it is a short direct quote, which must be properly attributed. You're more than welcome to take any ideas from the other site, but the expression of those ideas in our article must be new and novel, meaning that you must write the information in your own words. Shuffling around directly-copied phrases from one sentence to another is not sufficient, it's got to be a new expression of the concept.

You are welcome to reinstate the material I deleted, but only in a re-written form that doesn't violate our policies. Best, Beyond My Ken (talk) 20:53, 13 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Same with Raymond Hood. Beyond My Ken (talk) 21:03, 13 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Daily News Building too, although it's not as bad. Try not to lift words like "dichtomizing", they're a dead giveaway. Beyond My Ken (talk) 21:06, 13 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Congratulations on having your article accepted for creation. Here are a couple of notes:

  • Please remember that Wikipedia is not an academic resource, it's a popular encyclopedia. Your article is a little too much like an academic paper, and could use some adjustments in both tone and content to be more accesible to the general public.
  • Wikistyle is for capitalization of section titles is for only the first word of the section title to be capitatized, except for proper nouns.
  • Please add Wikilinks to other articles where appropriate, such as I've added to "Hebrew Bible", "The Odyssey", "Proust" and "Swann's Way". There are many others in the article that still need to be done. Such hyperlinks are part of the reason Wikipedia is such a useful and popular resource.
  • Please don't use "op. cit." and "ibid" in Wikipedia references. This is because anyone can edit an article, and the order of the material may change. The best thing to do is to put a often-used source into the "Bibliography" and then cite it. I've done this for you with Heynick (1993).
  • Which brings me to a concern: the article seems to be very strongly based on the work of one academic, Frank Heynick: the great of references cite him. You should try to expand the article to include the work of other experts in the field.
  • Which also prompts me to ask: do you have any relationship with Frank Heynick. if so, please read WP:COI.

That's all I have for the moment, since my time is short. When I have more free time I'll take another pass at it. Beyond My Ken (talk) 02:26, 13 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The article Verbal language in dreams has been proposed for deletion. The proposed deletion notice added to the article should explain why.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
