Little context in Zorz[edit]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Zorz, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Zorz is very short providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Zorz, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. To see the user who deleted the page, click here CSDWarnBot (talk) 18:40, 12 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

File copyright problem with File:GammaPhiPetition.png[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:GammaPhiPetition.png. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Fred the Oyster (talk) 01:08, 24 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Talkback[edit]

Rollback[edit]

I have granted rollback rights to your account; the reason for this is that after a review of some of your contributions, I believe you can be trusted to use rollback correctly, and for its intended usage of reverting vandalism, and that you will not abuse it by reverting good-faith edits or to revert-war. For information on rollback, see Wikipedia:New admin school/Rollback and Wikipedia:Rollback feature. If you do not want rollback, just let me know, and I'll remove it. Good luck and thanks. JamieS93 22:21, 26 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, no problem. :) I'm sure you'll put it to good use. JamieS93 22:38, 26 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Non Free Files in your User Space[edit]

Hey there Warbirdadmiral, thank you for your contributions! I am a bot alerting you that Non-free files are not allowed in the user or talk-space. I removed some files that I found on User:Warbirdadmiral/Beta Theta Pi. In the future, please refrain from adding fair-use files to your user-space drafts or your talk page.

  • See a log of files removed today here.

Seminar hall vjti[edit]

That was just a demo page -- we were trying to teach people how to edit Wikipedia here in Mumbai. Thanks for participating in the demo :-) --— Angpradesh  — talk 08:00, 15 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, great! Haven't been doing newpage patrol in months, just getting back into the groove of things. Still pretty new to it in the first place. So, thanks for participating with my participation. :) Haha. Warbirdadmiral (talk) 08:03, 15 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Excuse me?[edit]

I'm going to revert you at Simulcast, even though I'm now pushing 3rr on this. You need to spend a little bit more time making sure I didn't, you know, explain the section blanking on the talk page before accusing me of vandalism. I accuse you of failure to WP:AGF. n00b. 24.177.123.74 (talk) 08:21, 15 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Pardon the assumed vandalism, I had noticed the continued reverting along with the explanation of "I'm serious, this section needs to go away" which is a little less than informative and leads me to *not* WP:AGF. Should've checked the talk page, you're right. And you have my apologies for that.Warbirdadmiral (talk) 08:23, 15 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, since you apologized here, I'm not going to drop the {{Uw-tpv2}} on you for section blanking my talk page or threaten to put you up for an RfC. But be more careful with the HG next time, lest you feed the conflict trolls. 24.177.123.74 (talk) 08:38, 15 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

RC Patrol[edit]

Well, to be honest, I don't use any of the anti-vandal tools; I simply keep an eye on the RC feed at #cvn-wp-en, and revert as fast as I can using simple rollback. (Ironically enough, it's the first time I have done RC patrol in years for me too.) I try to figure out edit patterns over a period of time; e.g. if a user has multiple warnings on their talk page over a period of a few hours, then I'll keep an eye for that user in a certain group of articles.

You will always have false positives; as long as you are prepared to say sorry, you'll do fine. Users won't be happy with false positives; that is to be expected. Drop it, and if possible help them out, and that'll sort thing out.

By the way, many reverts I try to do, you've already beaten me to the punch... so I'd say you're doing pretty well. Titoxd(?!? - cool stuff) 09:15, 15 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

You should focus less on quantity and more on quality. Reverting legit edits does more damage to Wikipedia as a whole than vandals. 24.177.123.74 (talk) 08:31, 21 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

New deal for page patrollers[edit]

Hi MadDogWest,

In order to better control the quality of new pages, keep out the spam, and welcome the genuine newbies, the current system we introduced in 2011 is being updated and improved. The documentation and tutorials have also been revised and given a facelift. Most importantly a new user group New Page Reviewer has been created.

Under the new rule, you may find that you are temporarily unable to mark new pages as reviewed. However, this is nothing to worry about - most current experienced patrollers are being accorded the the new right without the need to apply, and if you have significant previous experience of patrolling new pages, we strongly encourage you to apply for the new right as soon as possible - we need all the help we can get, and we are now providing a dynamic, supportive environment for your work.

Find out more about this exiting new user right now at New Page Reviewers and be sure to read the new tutorial before applying. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 04:29, 13 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

User:MadDogWest/Userboxes/Fascism, a page which you created or substantially contributed to, has been nominated for deletion. Your opinions on the matter are welcome; you may participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/User:Qartagir/Userboxes/Fascist and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of User:MadDogWest/Userboxes/Fascism during the discussion but should not remove the miscellany for deletion template from the top of the page; such a removal will not end the deletion discussion. Thank you. — csc-1 00:12, 2 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

File source problem with File:GammaPhiHouse0.JPG[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:GammaPhiHouse0.JPG. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.

If the necessary information is not added within the next seven days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. plicit 00:57, 22 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
