File source problem with File:IMKyvernitis.jpg[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:IMKyvernitis.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of that website's terms of use of its content. However, if the copyright holder is a party unaffiliated from the website's publisher, that copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider verifying that you have specified sources for those files as well. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged per Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion, F4. Tips on making WP:Wikilinks[edit]

Hi! and tks will make the changes...Yani papadimos (talk) 16:00, 9 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, you've got the wikilink formatting not quite right, but easy to fix:

 • Currently you're typing Lawrence Durrell, this is unnecessarily clumsy/bulky, since you can just type Lawrence Durrell and it will appear as Lawrence Durrell. If you want to make a wikilink, but have the clickable word be different than the literal article name, you can type it like this: his father, and use it like so: "the young Robert Durell was greatly influenced by his father".

Hope that helps!

Sorry about the frustration of making a new article, but you're learning a lot about the process, so hopefully Teahouse is giving some good advice on getting strong sourcing there to make the article as solid as possible for publication. MatthewVanitas (talk) 14:40, 9 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Articles for creation[edit]

Over time I have contributed for the creation of articles my father's work "Dimitri Papadimos" (1st May 1918 - 3rd May 1994)a Greek photographer to WIKIPEDIA via WIKIMEDIA. The article in the Greek Wiki (https://el.wikipedia.org/wiki/%CE%94%CE%B7%CE%BC%CE%AE%CF%84%CF%81%CE%B7%CF%82_%CE%A0%CE%B1%CF%80%CE%B1%CE%B4%CE%AE%CE%BC%CE%BF%CF%82) was created by myself. Last year I created the same article in English (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_talk:Articles_for_creation/Dimitri_Papadimos)that for some reason was deleted...Pls be kind enough and explain to me the reason because I would like this article to be created as items from this work have been used to created, (https://ru.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D0%9F%D0%B0%D0%BF%D0%B0%D0%B4%D0%B8%D0%BC%D0%BE%D1%81,_%D0%94%D0%B8%D0%BC%D0%B8%D1%82%D1%80%D0%B8%D1%81)and (https://cs.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dimitris_Papadimos). Thanking you for your time Yani papadimos (talk) 17:31, 15 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Your draft is still here: Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Dimitri Papadimos. --NeilN talk to me 17:56, 15 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I was about to ask you if you want me to move the article into mainspace but then I saw the "Dimitri Papadimos Archive" section is a copyright violation from here. Can you please fix this as soon as possible? --NeilN talk to me 18:03, 15 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

NeilN I have made the changes...I was "quoting" and attributing with references...What else can be done now? Thanks for your help and yes pls do what must be done now for its creation...tks Yani papadimos (talk) 20:42, 15 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Do you have any sources for: "Papadimos' acquaintance and connection with the British architect Austen St. Barbe Harrison, whom he met in Cairo in the 1930s, brought him in touch with many European writers, inclulding Robin Maugham, Patrick Balfour, 3rd Baron Kinross, A. W. Lawrence, Philip Sherrard, Francis Noel-Baker and Arab intellectuals such as Hassan Fathy; He later became the contributing photographer to many of their works. In 1939, Austen Harrison sent Papadimos to study cinematography in Paris but the outbreak of WWII in put an early end to his studies."

And why is this in the biography of Papadimos: "Harrison lived with his "adopted family" of Dimitri Papadimos in Athens until his death in 1976. Afterwards, the Papadimos family donated the Austen St. Barbe Harrison archive to the Rockefeller Museum." --NeilN talk to me 14:15, 29 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Dear NeilN I have understood your comments and have made the necessary, in my opinion, changes...I have also added a private letter from Austen Harrison to my mother on her wedding day [1] as proof of the connection between Austen Harrison and my Father Dimitri Papadimos as you will also note by be various photos at the bottom of the article. Pls be kind enough and let me know what you think. My very best Yani papadimos (talk) 14:02, 30 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Potential areas of expansion[edit]

Hi Yani, these are potential areas of expansion for the article. All additions should be sourced properly:

 • What photographers was Papadimos influenced by? Who did he influence?
 • What was his method or theory of photography?
 • Any reviews his work received.
