pt:Æblerød

I have found a page on the English Wikipedia relating to a so-called municipality in Denmark called "Æblerød". No such community exits and the page is 100% fiction. The page has now been deleted from the English Wikipedia, but has unfortunately been translated and is used on the Portuguese Wikipedia pt:Æblerød. Since I don't know any Portuguese, I'd really appreciate it if any of you could kill the page on the Lusophone Wiki. For documentation please see: [1] which is a list of current and future municipalities in Denmark (from the Danish Ministry of the Interior.) As you can see, "Æblerød" is not on the list.

Thanks, and good luck with the message board. --Valentinian 15:46, 10 September 2005 (UTC)

top ten portuguese/brazilian baby names 2005

Hi:) The page Most popular names is missing Portugal and Brazil. Has anybody seen a list they could include? Which name is most popular at the moment? João maybe? Jameswilson 03:46, 29 January 2006 (UTC) Yes i know that Joao is a very popular name in Brazil at least

Registration.

Do I have to register separately on the Portuguese Wikipedia? I registered in English but the Portuguese site doesn't recognise me. (Shelbing 06:00, 9 April 2006 (UTC))

Help with translations

I'm currently working on a script intended to create short articles on political parties on a variety of wikipedias simultaneously. However, in order for the technique to work I need help with translations to various languages. If you know any of the languages listed at User:Soman/Lang-Help , then please help by filling in the blanks. For example I need help with Portuguese. Thanks, --Soman 12:14, 30 July 2006 (UTC)

I added the ones I could translate, or guess. --Phelan 21:45, 1 August 2006 (UTC)

An Invitation from the Philippine Wikipedia Community

Hello folks,

The Philippine Wikipedia Community will be holding its 1st Meet-up in Cebu City (the fourth one in the Philippines) on June 23-24, 2008. This coincides with the first Philippine Open Source Summit, also to be held in Cebu. The Philippine Wikipedia Community is an Implementing Partner of the Open Source Summit. We invite you to join us in this event. If you are in the IT or IT-enabled services industry, this would be a great opportunity to meet people from the 4th best outsourcing city in the world. This is also a good excuse to visit our beautiful beaches :)

If you're interested in joining the Wikipedia meet-up, please join our discussion. You can register for the Open Source Summit here. If you would like some assistance with local accomodations, you may email User:Bentong Isles.

Latin American cinema task force

A Latin American cinema task force has been proposed at WP:FILMS, which would include the cinema of Brazil. Interested editors are encouraged to sign up – if there is enough interest, then the task force will be created! Many thanks, Girolamo Savonarola (talk) 20:35, 30 September 2008 (UTC)

We have some problems at the above, a BLP with some contentious claims in it, sourced entirely to Portuguese sources. If someone familiar with the language would be willing to check the claims against the sources, that would be extremely helpful. SlimVirgin talk|contribs 18:54, 28 December 2010 (UTC)

This article about a Portuguese model and actor has been nominated for deletion. Discussion at the AfD suggests that Portuguese-speaking Wikipedians may be able to find sources to verify his notability (or lack thereof). Your comments there would be welcome. Thanks. Thryduulf (talk) 00:23, 2 January 2011 (UTC)

The Portuguese article on this topic has much more information and lots of references. Can anyone translate the information and put it into the English Travesti article? All the best! -- Ssilvers (talk) 23:15, 9 February 2011 (UTC)

Silvio Manoel Lapa Miglio

Is Silvio Manoel Lapa Miglio notable in reliable source Portuguese publications, and in Brazil more generally?

He (or his venture fund) have apparently recently funded a Brazilian team for the Google Lunar X Prize, an international competition to send multiple small robotic rovers to the surface of the Moon prior to the end of 2015, for a prize competition. If he is notable and if we have a couple of sources that show that, I would create an stub article about him on the English Wikipedia.

Limited spaceflight-related sources I've seen to date include: GLXP Update: SpaceMETA Raises $10 Million From Investment Fund and Brazilian Space. The second is clearly not a reliable source for the purpose of Wikipedia. Thanks for any help. Cheers. N2e (talk) 14:32, 13 March 2014 (UTC)

Hello N2e, I did some basic research about the biographee. Aside this new Lunar program, the only event he is notable for is some Hospital he bought that went bankrupt soon after (2011) leaving some employees without payment and customers with no healthcare. I couldn't even find sources in Portuguese confirming the information, widespread in the spaceflight news, that he is involved in Ethanol production in Brazil. Cheers. 2006 Lusophony Games references

I'm working on clearing out the oldest unreferenced articles. One series of them are the Nations at the 2006 Lusophony Games articles. Almost all have been sitting unreferenced for eight years. I haven't been able to track down an English source for these. Would anyone happen to have a Portuguese sports almanac that might cover these? - SimonP (talk) 15:32, 20 March 2015 (UTC)

I referenced a couple of them with English references, I will try to find and add a few more in the next week. Cainamarques (talk) 04:39, 16 April 2015 (UTC)

Request

Over the past number of weeks, a small number of IPs has been creating a pile of WP:HOAX articles about nonexistent bands and television series (for example, a TV series that purportedly ran for 13 seasons on NBC — except that such a television series would be one of the longest-running shows in American television history, and thus would not be utterly unsourceable had it ever really existed.) One of their recent creations was an unsourceable "greatest hits" album by the unsourceable band "Patrick Johnson Five" — but in the process of searching Google to determine whether the album and band were real or not, I discovered pt:The Unauthorized Memories of the Gravity, pt:Stolen Jungle and pt:Green Sea Farm — all of which are similarly unsourceable albums by the exact same unsourceable band. (Just as another example of the problem, the articles on pt claim that PJ5 are an American band — while the article I deleted on en claimed they were Brazilian.) Since I can't write Portuguese, however, I wanted to ask if somebody who is able to speak and write Portuguese could go over to pt: to get them listed for deletion — even in the very unlikely event that they aren't an outright hoax, they're certainly unsourceable enough to be non-notable. Thanks. Bearcat (talk) 23:02, 11 July 2015 (UTC)
