The Pope's disapproval of the activities of the Russian Orthodox Church is adequately stated IMO, but perhaps the additional quote could be restored if cited correctly. undo Tags: Visual edit Mobile edit Mobile web edit

I am not Eastern Orthodox, but many consider here-termed "neo-Palamism" to be the most authentic expression of Orthodox spirituality. Though it may be employed in polemics, this is not to suggest that it is only used in the arena of debate. Palamite spiritually informs the daily practices of Eastern Orthodox believers. undo Tags: Visual edit Mobile edit Mobile web edit
  • curprev 15:4115:41, 7 January 2023Ysys9 talk contribs 62,402 bytes −18 The origin point and age of Palamism and the related doctrines is still a point of contention between scholars. Though the historical evidence would seem to suggest that the practice is indeed centuries older than the controversy, there is no academic consensus, therefore it is technically under the category of biased according to Wikipedia standards. I don't think this was a bad-faith edit, it's just a very historically complicated matter that we are still studying in the West. undo Tags: Visual edit Mobile edit Mobile web edit
