== Revocation of licenses ==

Please understand that you are legally unable to revoke the Creative Commons licenses under which you have granted permission to use the images that you're currently trying to have deleted. Image without license

Thanks for uploading Image:D-Jet on Discovery Channel.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 23:50, 19 July 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? --MifterBot (TalkContribsOwner) 23:50, 19 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Image:DSC 0478.JPG

A tag has been placed on Image:DSC 0478.JPG requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is a redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on [[ Talk:Image:DSC 0478.JPG|the talk page]] explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Picture

Hey Bluedisk! I'm working on an article of a church in Seattle, and was wondering if yo could help. I need a picture of the building, and/or inside (if it's not violating any copyright) in Ballard, but i live in Europe, so if it is possible, and you have the time it could be cool if you would help. Thanks in advance.--MortenKristensen (talk) 21:29, 17 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Dotaf.png)

Thanks for uploading Image:Dotaf.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:24, 26 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Problems with upload of File:APCD.JPG

Thanks for uploading File:APCD.JPG. You don't seem to have said where the image came from, who created it, or what the copyright status is. We require this information to verify that the image is legally usable on Wikipedia, and because most image licenses require giving credit to the image's creator.

To add this information, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the information to the image's description. If you need help, post your question on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 20:05, 7 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Invitation to Meetup/Seattle6, a focus group

Hello. I'm part of a research group at the University of Washington (Seattle campus), and my group is reaching out to Wikipedians in the Puget Sound area. We're hosting a focus group designed to gather information on what Wikipedians would like to know about each other when interacting on Wikipedia. Our end goal is to create an embedded application that helps people quickly know more about others' history and activity on Wikipedia, and we feel our design will be much more useful if it's based on insights of users like you.

I'm hoping that the chance to help out local researchers, to engage in lively face-to-face discussion with other Seattle Wikipedians, and to contribute to Wikipedia in a new way will entice you to join us. The session lasts 2 hours and snacks are provided - one is April 8 (Wednesday) starting at 6 pm and the other is April 18 (Saturday) starting at 10 am. (Sessions will be held on UW Seattle campus - directions will be sent after registration.) Your contribution will be greatly appreciated!

Willing and able to help us out? RSVP here. Want to know more? Visit our user talk page . Please help us contact other local Wikipedians, too! Commprac01 (talk) 19:00, 10 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

NowCommons: File:Harriet.JPG

File:Harriet.JPG is now available on Wikimedia Commons as Commons:File:USCGC Harriet Lane (WMEC-903).jpg. This is a repository of free media that can be used on all Wikimedia wikis. The image will be deleted from Wikipedia, but this doesn't mean it can't be used anymore. You can embed an image uploaded to Commons like you would an image uploaded to Wikipedia, in this case: [[File:USCGC Harriet Lane (WMEC-903).jpg]]. Note that this is an automated message to inform you about the move. This bot did not copy the image itself. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 23:38, 26 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Photo request

Would you mind photographing the Alaska Airlines headquarters in SeaTac? Try to get a shot of the building with the Alaska logos visible. If there are no Alaska logos on the building, please try to get a shot of the building with the sign indicating the Alaska HQ in the photo. WhisperToMe (talk) 02:51, 7 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

FILE: USCG EMT.JPG

Hello,

I have some serious reservations about the use of this photo in the Ambulance entry. I've posted my concerns in the talk page for that entry. Just thought you would like to know as it is your photo. Frmatt (talk) 09:01, 10 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you very much, look for an appropriate photo to appear within the next few weeks. Frmatt (talk) 21:31, 10 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

FILE: 1956 Ford Crown Victoria.JPG

Hello,

My father believes this car is a 1955 and not a 1956. Please see the discussion page for this file. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 174.51.235.146 (talk) 03:10, 1 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading File:Olympia High School PAC.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Skier Dude (talk) 07:54, 22 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Possibly unfree File:MedicOne.JPG

A file that you uploaded or altered, File:MedicOne.JPG, has been listed at Wikipedia:Possibly unfree files because its copyright status is unclear or disputed. You are welcome to add comments to its entry at the discussion if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. --(ESkog)(Talk) 14:26, 13 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Revocation of licenses

Please understand that you are legally unable to revoke the Creative Commons licenses under which you have granted permission to use the images that you're currently trying to have deleted. You may want to read this essay for a further explanation. Nyttend (talk) 03:28, 30 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
