Watford Football Club are an English association football club, based in Watford, Hertfordshire. Watford were formed from the merger of West Hertfordshire (previously Watford Rovers) and Watford St. Mary's in 1898.[1] They play their home matches at Vicarage Road, since moving from Cassio Road in 1922. In their early history, Watford competed in the Southern Football League, winning the championship in 1914–15, and finishing as runners up on goal average in 1919–20.[2] For the 1920–21 season, Watford joined the Football League. They have remained there ever since, with the exception of 1999–2000 and 2006–07, where they competed in the Premier League. Their highest ever finish in the Football League was 2nd in 1982–83, and they reached an FA Cup final in 1984.

Many of Watford's individual records are held by former striker Luther Blissett. He has made more Watford appearances (503) and scored more goals for the club (186) than anyone else, and his corresponding totals for Watford in the Football League (416 appearances and 148 goals), are also unsurpassed.[3] Cliff Holton has scored the most goals for Watford in a single season; 48 in all competitions in 1959–60,[4] and Harry Barton the most in a competitive match; 6 against Wycombe Wanderers in 1903.[3] Watford's most used goalkeeper is Skilly Williams, who played for the club 341 times between 1913 and 1926.[5]

This is a list of players who have played 50 or more competitive football matches for the club. It includes appearances in the Premier League, Football League, Southern Football League, FA Cup, Football League Cup, Football League Trophy, Full Members Cup, UEFA Cup and the Anglo-Italian Cup.
