I dropped by your user page on my way to give you a barnstar for your work with the dab project's talk pages, and I noticed that you have a Japanese katakana transliteration of "Hunter" there. I just thought I'd take the occasion to let you know that the usual transliteration would be ハンター rather than フンター. フ is technically the correct character for "Hu", but only when that's pronounced as in "who". If you feel like looking at the Japanese Wikipedia, you can verify this by looking at, say, ホリー・ハンター (Holly Hunter). Happy hunting! Dekimasuよ! 12:55, 30 November 2009 (UTC)
The Admin's Barnstar
For persistence in assuring that Wikipedia be free of partial title match lists, and for the many other substantial contributions you have made to Wikipedia over the years, I award you this barnstar. Neelix (talk) 20:59, 28 November 2009 (UTC)
The Working Man's Barnstar
You do great work. (I put the pipe in there on purpose. Hee hee.) I bow. Keeper | 76 16:06, 12 December 2007 (UTC)

Name articles

Category:Surnames and Category:Given names shouldn't be flagged as {{hndis}} or put into Category:Human name disambiguation pages, unless there are multiple people known by just the surname or just the given name. {{surname}} no longer redirects to hndis. See WP:MOSDAB

If the Title is already a disambiguation page, move the list of people to a "Title (surname)" page, so on Patton, for example, George S. Patton (often referred to as just "Patton") and the places and things would remain on the base page along with a Patton (surname) link, which would list people with the last name who aren't commonly known by just it.

Partial title match lists

They aren't dabs and they aren't valid list articles. See also:

AfD for Dabs

Disambiguation deletion discussions are usually held as AfD discussions.

Other disambiguations

WP:D#Disambiguation pages now agrees (more) with WP:MOSDAB#Individual entries.

Discussion: Talk:Tiamat (disambiguation).

How to search Wikipedia with Google/Bing

To limit Google or Bing searches to the English Wikipedia, include this in your search string: site:en.wikipedia.org.

You can even do a Google search of Wikipedia from Wikipedia's own search box! For example, to use Google to search for pages with "geology" in the title, type this into WP's search box: google:geology+site:en.wikipedia.org

This link does the same thing: google:geology+site:en.wikipedia.org.

Another way is to use Google's or Bing's advanced settings. (To get there from Google's or Bing's search page, click on the gear icon).
