Dhananjay Panditrao Munde (born 15 July 1975)[2] is an Indian politician, who is currently a member of the Nationalist Congress Party. [3] He was appointed cabinet minister in Uddhav Thackeray's Maharashtra State Government on 24 December 2019, [4] [5] as the Minister for Social Justice and Special Assistance.[6] Earlier, he had held the role of opposition leader in the Legislative Council of Maharashtra.[7]

He was born on 15 July 1975, in Vanjari family in Parli.

Political career
He is the nephew of BJP leader Gopinath Munde.[10] He has also worked as the BJP's Youth Wing Bhartiya Janata Yuva Morcha's President in Maharashtra prior to joining the Nationalist Congress Party in 2012[11] in the presence of Sharad Pawar. He became a member of Maharashtra's Legislative Council in 2014. He contested 2014 Vidhan Sabha election from Parli but lost to his cousin Pankaja Munde. He avenged the defeat in 2019 and became an MLA for the first time, and also a minister soon later. [12]
