His mother and baby sister were killed in an automobile accident in 1972, in which he was also badly injured. He is a graduate of Archmere Academy, the University of Pennsylvania, and Syracuse University College of Law. From 1995 to 2002, he was a federal prosecutor in Philadelphia. It took Biden four attempts to pass the Delaware Bar Exam, one of the toughest bar exams in the U.S.[1] Subsequently, he was a partner in the Wilmington law firm Bifferato, Gentilotti, Biden & Balick.
