B2K

B2K was an American R&B music group, founded and managed by music producer Chris Stokes in 2001 and active until 2004.

Biography

In 2001, B2K released their first single "Uh Huh" from their self-titled debut album. They were also in a scene in IMx's video, "Beautiful".

In 2002, they released their first LP, B2K. B2K released three singles — "Uh Huh", "Gots Ta Be", and "Why I Love You". Their second and final regular studio album, Pandemonium!, was released in December of the same year, and garnered the US #1 hit single "Bump, Bump, Bump". The group featured regularly on the covers of teen magazines such as Right On! and Word Up. They also released a Christmas album in-between their regular two albums, entitled Santa Hooked Me Up.

In 2003, they released four more singles "Girlfriend", "Bump That", "Everything" and "What A Girl Wants". In addition to that, they were featured on the soundtrack album for Barbershop. They headlined The Scream Tour',' along with Marques Houston, Jhene, Mario and Nick Cannon, who were also performing. B2K also released the single "Babadoom" (Ft. Fabolous) from their movie, You Got Served.

Members

Appearances in film

Screen Gems's You Got Served, a film which starred the members of the group and members of the group of IMx as breakdancers, went into general release on January 30, 2004 and hit number one at the box office, earning more money than any other film that opened during a Super Bowl weekend. Several songs by the group were featured on the film's soundtrack album.

Breaking up

In January 2004, Chris Stokes announced that the group had broken up. Three of the members claimed financial mishandling by Stokes' management company, T.U.G. (The Ultimate Group). Omarion and Chris Stokes claimed the allegations were untrue. Even though they are no longer a group, the members have reconciled. Lil Fizz was featured in Omarion's "Entourage" video and Omarion, J-Boog, and Raz-B are in Lil Fizz's latest video. An in-depth interview was given by the group (Raz-B, J. Boog Lil Fizz), chronicling the beginning and break-up of B2K. The interview has now surfaced on YouTube.

After B2K: Reality Show & Possible Reunion

Omarion released his debut album, O on February 22, 2005 which sold 735,014 copies to date in the U.S. He then released his second album, 21 on December 26, 2006 which sold 119,000 copies.

Lil' Fizz was suppose to release his debut album, Payday on July 17, 2007, but the album didn't surface even after several release dates since 2006.

On November 9, 2007, videos of their new reality show featuring most of the group surfaced onto YouTube. In the videos the group members discuss various topics such as their legal rights to still use their group's name 'B2K' and former band member Omarion. It shows the band thinking about and possibly trying to get back together, although Raz-B has stated that he does not want to work with Omarion. There is a possible reunion in the future but no one of the B2K team has replied. A B2K Reality webisode is on YouTube that shows the three former bandmates Lil' Fizz, J-Boog, and Raz-B trying to make it without Omarion and TUG, because of B2K scandal with Raz-B's sexual molestation allegations against his former manager Chris Stokes.[1]
