This is a list of episodes for the Nickelodeon animated television series Avatar: The Last Airbender. The series premiered on February 21, 2005, and has aired through its second season. A third season, "Book 3: Fire," began airing on September 21, 2007.[1] The third season has also been confirmed by Nickelodeon to have 21 episodes within 20 chapters.[2]

The series classifies each season as a "book" and each episode as a "chapter." The list is ordered by release date which, with the exception of "Appa's Lost Days", also adheres to the show's continuity.

While they are leaving, the Governor of Omashu's son, TomTom, accidentally leaves with the Earthbenders who are willing to trade him for King Bumi.

It was then followed by a brand new episode, Chapter 18: The Waterbending Master.

Online downloads

The first two books are available through the iTunes Store, BitTorrent,[8] and Xbox Live Marketplace with new episodes usually released one day after they premiere on Nickelodeon. It currently has "The Serpent's Pass" and "The Drill" combined into The Secret of the Fire Nation. The episodes "The Guru" and "The Crossroads of Destiny" are also combined. The third Book, "Fire", is also available online through the iTunes Store and the Xbox Live Marketplace, but on iTunes only episodes 1-12 are purchasable.

Volume DVDs

Book One: Water

Book 1: Water, Volume 1, containing the first four episodes and the making-of special, was released on January 31, 2006 by Paramount Home Entertainment. The remaining episodes were also put into their own separate DVDs and sold separately for a total of five DVDs. The PAL version doesn't include the special features.The Complete Book 1 Collection was released September 18, 2006 and contains all episodes of Book One: Water on a six disc set with all-new special features on the sixth disc.[9]

Book Two: Earth

Book 2: Earth, Volume 1, containing the first five episodes of the second season, was released on January 23, 2007 by Paramount Home Entertainment. The remaining episodes are to be placed on DVDs in divisions of five and sold separately for a total of four DVDs, followed by a boxed set in a similar fashion to the first season. Each of the individual season two DVDs also come complete with an exclusive comic book.[10]

Book Three: Fire
