"Turnin Me On"
Song

"Turnin' Me On" is a song by American singer-songwriter Keri Hilson, taken from her debut album, In a Perfect World... (2009). It was produced by Polow da Don and was released as the album's official third single on December 9, 2008 [2] (see 2008 in music) in the United States as a follow up to the lackluster performance of Return The Favor. The song features Lil Wayne. There are two different versions of the song, one of which is a demo version, known as "Turn Off." In the finalized version, Lil Wayne uses the Auto-Tune in his verse. This is Keri Hilson's first single to receive a Parental Advisory label.

Music video

The music video for "Turnin' Me On" was directed by Erik White. Set primarily in a white background, Hilson in the video is a woman that is surrounded by attractive men that turning her on and off. Hilson explains the situation can be a matter of two seconds. Throughout the video, there are cutaways in which Hilson appears sitting on big speakers, dancing with two backup dancers doing the Whoop Rico made famous by Showtime ENT, and the Bird Walk, drinking and having fun with her friends in a bar while men are trying to impress her, singing with Lil Wayne in a black background and later on a red sofa, and finally Hilson after getting rid of an annoying man is having a drink and smiling. Rich Boy, Polow da Don, Leah LaBelle, Pleasure P. and Hilson's sister make cameo appearances in the video which premiered on November 20, 2008. The video peaked #1 on BET's 106 & Park.

Reception

The song was on Vibe Magazine's "The 80 Best Songs of '08", at #67. On a review, the magazine praised Hilson's voice and called Keri "ridiculous hot". [3]The song was also a choice on the Allmusic track pics.[4]

The song has been well recieved and has been Hilson's most successful song to date. "Knock You Down" is predicted to take that title.
