Noa Tohar Tishby (Template:He; born May 22, 1977)[2] is an Israeli actress, producer, model and singer.
Career
Tishby received a full drama scholarship to the Tel Aviv National Museum of Arts and went on to play the lead in the Israel's prime television time soap opera Ramat Aviv Gimmel. Tishby became a household name in Israel and appeared in numerous TV shows and films, among them the critically acclaimed Five Minutes Walking. Her album Nona was the first English-speaking full album released by an Israeli artist. Nona was also released in Japan by Virgin Records.
In the United States, Tishby appeared in Michael Bay's The Island with Ewan McGregor and Scarlett Johansson. She also was cast in leading roles in the indie films Fatwa and Connecting Dots – the latter film winning first prize at The NY and LA Independent Film Festival. Tishby's television credits include NCIS, Leverage, CSI:Miami, CSI:NY, Nip/Tuck, The 4400, Las Vegas, and Star Trek: Enterprise.
Tishby's recent projects are The Ghost of Girlfriends Past for Warner Brothers opposite Matthew McConaughey, as well as recurring roles on HBO’s Big Love and ABC's The Deep End.[3]
Noa played the lead in the Israeli drama 2.3 Times a Week. She played an Ella, a super star singer and as part of the show released a new single and a video to Israeli radio.
She is the international face of Jewelry and fashion designer Michal Negrin. Tishby is also passionate about technology and is a Founder in the video sharing application minit.
Behind the camera
Tishby serves as co-executive producer of the program alongside Mark Wahlberg. Ultimately, by selling In Treatment, Tishby created a previously non-existent connection between Israeli entertainment content and the US entertainment market.[4][5][6]
Recently, Tishby set up three additional television projects in the US: Screenz and A Touch Away for HBO and a comedy for MTV. Tishby’s production company, Noa’s Arc, owns the rights to the programs and is developing numerous television, film and theater projects from Israel and other parts of the world.
Politics
Tishby is a member of AIPAC (the American Israel Public Affairs Committee) and has traveled to Washington, D.C. to lobby on Capitol Hill. She is also a member of The Israeli Consulate Speakers Bureau and the ILC (Israeli Leadership Council). She is also part of Summit Series, an organization for young entrepreneurs, as well as a member of, and is a mentor for, Women In Film. For two and-a-half years, Tishby served in the IDFas a singer with a military performing group. Following the Flotilla incident in 2010 Noa Tishby took to Twitter to advocate strongly for Israel. She is co-Founder of the digital activism group Act For Israel.
Noa was on The 2012 Jerusalem Post disputable list of the 50 most influential Jews in the world alongside Benjamin Netanyahu, Natalie Portman and Mark Zuckerberg.
Personal life
Tishby was married to Australian media personality, Andrew Günsberg.[7][8][9] In two very simple tweets on December 27, 2011, Gunsberg and Tishby told their Twitter followers that their marriage was over.[10]
