{{backwardscopy|url=http://www.nigerianstat.gov.ng/information/details/Delta|title=Delta State Information|publisher=Nigerian State Gov|date=publication date unknown; oldest archive October 19 2012|comments=Evidence suggests that content in this article evolved naturally. Take [https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Delta_State&diff=273453902&oldid=262448084 this edit] for instance, and look at the first paragraph under "History". We see minor modification to that text - "another name advanced by the people of Anioma as the capital of proposed "Anioma state" becomes "another name advanced by the people of Anioma for the capital of the proposed "Anioma state". One word is changed, and one word is added. The content in the external site reflects that change. The words "carved out" being striking, I search further back in history to find that they entered the article in 2005 as the addition of a discrete sentence into a stub: "[https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Delta_State&diff=14787522&oldid=14452066 It was carved out of the former Bendel State.]" There is little of the rest of the content here, and the date was added to that sentence [https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Delta_State&diff=442052718&oldid=439532541 over six years later]. These signs of natural evolution make a strong case that they copied from us rather than the other way around. --[[User:Moonriddengirl|Moonriddengirl]] <sup>[[User talk:Moonriddengirl|(talk)]]</sup> 11:28, 18 September 2013 (UTC)}}

I am from Delta State Nigeria and Igbo is not the predominant language. There are the Urhobos, Isokos, Ishekris, Ijaws and many other tribes. In fact, Delta state might be one of the most diverse states in Nigeria. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 142.59.141.59 (talk) Tanno ben— Preceding unsigned comment added by 196.36.234.62 (talk)

Oil in Delta State

So the lede notes that Delta State is primarily an oil producing region, yet makes no mention of it under "natural resources," ignores the international oil firms operating there and the numerous deadly conflicts that have arisen over the protests against oil drilling. This is akin to describing Hawaii while failing to mention that it is an island in the Pacific. Oil is everything in Delta State. This is quite the poor article, imo. 69.237.157.127 (talk) 02:28, 19 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
