Prior to October 2013, the station was served by Inner West Line trains operating between the city and Liverpool via Lidcombe, and Bankstown Line services generally continued through Regents Park north to Lidcombe and then through to the city as Inner West Line services. This operating pattern was discontinued in 2013 with the construction of an additional platform at Lidcombe to allow Bankstown line services to turnback there.

The so-called Bankstown circle service which operates through Regents Park via Strathfield and via Sydenham is actually an operational nuisance when trying to operate a memory timetable at 15 minute intervals. The problem is that the running time around the circle is rarely an exact multiple of 15 minutes. The solution proposed by the Clearways Project is to break the circle at Homebush and Lidcombe so that trains will shuttle between Homebush via Strathfield, City Circle, Sydenham, Bankstown, Regents Park and Lidcombe. The shuttle times can be rounded up to the next multiple of 15 minutes by adjusting the turnback times at Lidcombe and Homebush.

Regents Park is a railway station on the Main South railway line in the western Sydney suburb of Regents Park. The station is served by the T3 Bankstown Line of the Sydney Trains network. The platforms are connected with the adjacent street by stairs and a lift and therefore is Easy Access for wheelchairs.

Platforms and services

Currently, Regents Park is served by Bankstown Line services generally on a half hourly basis between Lidcombe (two stations to the north) and the City via Bankstown, with additional trains provided during weekday peak hours. [1]
