The definition from the reference used differentiates between vertices and nodes. In that ref a leaf is a vertex, but not a node. But I agree with you that the article is of questionable use. Furthermore, the only ref used does not seem to be a [[WP:RS]]. It appears to be an excerpt from an unidentified prof's lecture notes. I would support putting this articl eup for deletion.
