Plot

The movie begins with a woman calling her friend while in a car in a parking lot when all of a sudden her friend gets thrown onto her car and dies on the spot while she is yelling for help. She sees some goons standing nearby and tries to run for her life but they catch her on the main road and the big guy (Padro) kills her by shooting her in the head. Meanwhile in India, Jay (Ajay Devgn) is working in a hotel. He shows his presence of mind to his manager and also demonstrates his kindness by saving a snake at the hotel. He later asks the manager to take one week off to travel to Mumbai to take part in the annual Ganapati Utsav.

After arriving in Mumbai, he is seen by a gang member, who tells Padro, the second-in-command. Padro informs his master and is asked to bring Ajay back. Meanwhile in Mumbai Vishi (Ajay Devgn) is a small-time crook who would do anything for money. While in a trial room in a mall, he becomes attracted to Khushi (Sonakshi Sinha), a simple HR executive also has a soft spot for Vishi in her heart. One day, Vishi, who frequently gets involved in fights, ends up beating a goon, who later seeks a revenge attack with his gang. It is revealed that the person they had beaten is Vishi's lookalike Jay; they flee the spot after hearing police but later find Vishi on a bike and try to beat him as well, but they are stopped and beaten themselves by Vishi.

On another occasion a police inspector arrests Jay and hands him over to a group of gangsters led by Padro. Jay kills them all and goes to Vishi's place. Vishi freaks out on seeing his lookalike but Jay reveals his true identity. In a flashback Jay reveals that he is professional assassin AJ, who used to work for Bangkok-based Don Xavier (Anand Raj). Xavier's sister Marina (Manasvi Mamgai) has been kidnapped by his rivals, with AJ single-handedly rescuing her. Marina falls for AJ but he rejects her as he is married to Anusha (Yami Gautam). Angered, Xavier tries to kill Anusha twice, which leaves her brutally injured. AJ escapes to India and gets her treated.

In the present, AJ requests Vishi to go to Bangkok disguised as AJ to fool Xavier and his sister; meanwhile AJ makes time to get his wife operated on, as she is expecting a baby. Vishi agrees to help and goes to Bangkok along with his friend Moosa (Kunaal Roy Kapur). They manages to fool everyone for few days, but Xavier grows suspicious. Marina tortures Moosa to find out the truth. They later kidnap Anusha and her newborn baby and call AJ. It is then revealed that AJ and Vishi had already switched places and the person at Bangkok is the real AJ. In the climax AJ kills Xavier, Marina and their gang. He rescues Anusha and their baby before returning to India.
