The Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge (marketed as S6 edge) is an Android smartphone manufactured and developed by Samsung Electronics, unveiled during Mobile World Congress on March 1, 2015.[1][2] It is the immediate successor to the Galaxy S5 alongside its sister phone the Samsung Galaxy S6. This year's design places a particular emphasis on design, including its unique sloped edges similar to the Galaxy Note Edge.[3][4] It is scheduled to be released on April 10, 2015.[5]

Features

The Galaxy S6 Edge is the sister phone to the Galaxy S6. In terms of performance, both the S6 and S6 Edge have similar specifications, but the S6 Edge has a 2600mAh battery compared to the 2550mAh found in the standard S6 model, it is a few grams lighter (132g compared to 138g), and will be available in emerald color.[4] The most unique and obvious feature in the S6 Edge is the sloping edges found on both sides unlike the single slope found in the Galaxy Note Edge. The curved edges show notifications as well as a shortcut for contacts through its Quick Contacts application. However, just like the standard S6 model, the S6 Edge does not have a support for an expandable memory card slot. It can also be charged wirelessly via any wireless charging pad available in the market.[6]
