Dfrg.msc, please be careful not to use fair-use images in userspace. I've again removed a screenshot you've taken from your talkpage and everywhere else it appears in userspace. Also, I'd still appreciate it if you put more effort into serious contributions and less or none into pranks and jokes. Work in Progress

These pictures are being worked on and stored here for later and immediate use. Also, to tidy up this hole.

Insult me!

Hey everyone. Im staring an insults competion on this page. Be original, cretive and try to keep the swearing to a minimum. I will rate all entrants out of ten. The winner will recive a signed, dated and original drawing of a turnip, by me. So, go for it. I'll get you started.

i mock you and your value system! F 22 12:31, 20 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Not bad F 22. lacks originality. I award yee 7 seahorses.

I was just going to complement your addition to taunt, but this contest is too good to ignore. You are a pathetic excuse for a human. Seriously, up your nose with a rubber hose. You are a walking satire of yourself. Your own mother denys any knowledge of your existence, and to tell the truth, I don't blame him. Zing! So, anyway, good job on Taunt. Ouch! Nice one ReverendG, I award yee 4 porposes, 3 lobsters and a mermaid. Exellent work.

Trigger Happy

Dear Administrator:

I, like you, am an editor; I create articles and make edits. But, many, I am sure many other people out there, are tired, frustrated and angry with the behavior of many Administrators. I am certain that it is appallingly easy to revert and article, that someone has undoubtedly spent allot of time and effort writing. I have, in the past spent hours, researching, planning, writing, checking and revising an addition to an article only to have the whole lot deleted forever three minutes afterwards.

I know that deletion of material is essential in a free-to-edit encyclopedia, but if you see an article that someone has anonymously devoted their time to writing, why could you not revise it, change it or give a reason for you action? They deserve one.

I know all Administrators are not all Drunk-With- Power-Trigger-Happy-Nazis, many of you do an excellent job and you know who you are.

In closing: Create, don’t Destroy. Make a distinction between “what is right, and what is easy”. Be enriched and enrich others with the knowledge of other people.

And keep that finger off the trigger.

Dfrg.msc 01:44, 6 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I also agree with dfrg.msc. I propose that we create a gang of people that are against administrators that are deleting pieces of work that have had someones heart poured into them. and we shall call exactly that. and we shall also abbrevaite it to GOPTAAATADPOWTHHSHPIT. all who wish to join leave your user name on my usertalk page:Mark606800 Talk Page

Regarding your valuable input to my talk page, do you have any particular page in mind or is it just general thoughts? abakharev 09:10, 6 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • I have noticed that you posted an identical message to the talk pages of many people. Please avoid this as it may be considered spam. Instead in future please post your valuable observations to WP:VPP or WP:AN or similar page. abakharev 09:30, 6 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I agree with the above comments. If you have an issue with any action I have taken as an administrator, feel free to raise it with me. Otherwise, though, spam is not appreciated. Best,--Alabamaboy 13:15, 6 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • I'd presume that your comments are based on your experiences editing the Tomorrow series. Although it's clear why you're frustrated, please understand that the administrators involved do not mean to be rude in any way. Feel free to ask them to explain to you why they made the edits they did: compromise and discussion is at the heart of creating quality, NPOV Wikipedia articles. In the meantime, in case you haven't already read it, check out Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not, which might give you a better idea of why the dispute arose on the Tomorrow series. In the meantime, happy editing, and enjoy Wikipedia! --Alex S 18:36, 6 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sockpuppet tag

Regarding your desire to give the benefit of the doubt, I'm removing the sockpuppet tag from your user page for the time being. Two things to consider, though:

  1. I assume that you and User:Carbine are friends. He's well on his way to a permanent ban from Wikipedia, as he has shown little desire to make useful contributions to this project and has created a number of sockpuppets. As you've noted, you've been labeled as another potential sock due to your common interests. I'm glad to hear that you don't intend to go down the same path, but until Carbine is either permanently blocked or changed his ways, you may run into problems of association again in the future. You may want to file a checkuser request at Wikipedia:Suspected sock puppets if this becomes a problem.
  2. I'd strongly suggest going over the introductory guidelines at Wikipedia:Introduction, even though you've been here a while. It's a huge help when you're still learning the ropes.

Drop me a line if you need anything. Tijuana BrassE@ 14:55, 11 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Mass Exodus

Mass Exodus has been proposed for deletion. An editor felt this is more a dictionary definition than an encyclopedia article. Please review Wikipedia:Wikipedia is not a dictionary for the relevant policy. If you can expand the article to address these concerns, please do so, or explain your plans on the talk page.

If no one objects to the deletion within five days by removing the "prod" notice, the article may be deleted without further discussion. If you remove the prod notice, the deletion process will stop, but if an editor is still not satisfied that the article meets Wikipedia guidelines, it may be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion for consensus. Warning

No climbing the Reichstag dressed as Spiderman
You have been spotted climbing the Reichstag building dressed as Spiderman. At least one editor has reported this behavior as being in relation to a content dispute. As clearly stated in WP:NCR, you may not climb the Reichstag building dressed as Spiderman in order to campaign over a content dispute. This is your last warning. If you climb any further up, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia.

Please do not erase this warning. Doing so is considered vandalism.

How did this Start?

How did this meme start? Was there any particular reason the Reichstag and Spider-Man were chosen? Is this page in blatant violation of WP:BEANS? Andjam 03:04, 9 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I've been in this from the very start so.. This be the Legend:

Ok, so, one sunny day long, long ago (11:43, 26 June 2006), I posted the article Trigger Happy (Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Archive47#Trigger Happy ) on the WP:VPP page and also on the Administrators' noticeboard. Little did I know the response that I would get. At the end of my article I wrote: If I don't cop flack for this one, I will climb the Reichtag Bulding in a Spiderman outfit. This was the response:

  • Please provide a photo of your climbing the Reichstag in a Spiderman outfit. Proto///type
  • When will you be climbing the Reichstag? I'll try to be around.(and could provide the photo then) Lectonar
We are the rouge admin cabal and will block you indefinitely for violating the Wikipedia:No climbing the Reichstag dressed as Spiderman. Also, we will extend this block to everybody you have ever met because you violated Wikipedia:Don't post incidents without giving people the faintest clue what the f**k you're on about, which is definitely policy. Just zis Guy you know? 12:21, 26 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

At this stage Wikipedia:No climbing the Reichstag dressed as Spiderman was just a link to the Hoax page. I decided then to indulge User:Proto and actualy digitaly edited a photo of myself climbing the Reichtag Bulding in a Spiderman outfit. I then posted this on the same page with the remark "Ok, but you forced me into this. Scaling a major landmark is harder than it looks". The original image has since been deleted as it violates copyright.

It was at this stage that Just zis Guy you know? took it to a new level. Gone was the re-direct and those considering climbing the Reichstag in a Spiderman outfit could only tremble in fear in the shadow of the New Wikipedia:No climbing the Reichstag dressed as Spiderman page. People started going there, mainly out of curiosity, and we soon realized that we had created a monster.

I was then indefinitely bollocked for violating policy (Wikipedia:No climbing the Reichstag dressed as Spiderman). Just zis Guy you know? 10:25, 27 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

A long battle ensued as to wheter we should keep the page on this fine website. With the help of countless people and of course the Rouge Admin and their mighty Cabal we won and here it is. The offical score was 13 points and a log to 27 points a brused backside and 3 ripped dresses.

And that, my children is how a rag-tag group of Wikipedeians got together and formed the Wikipedia:No climbing the Reichstag dressed as Spiderman page. There has been countless contributors and the battle still rages on many fronts but in the end, I think it is worth it to keep the Reichstag Spider-man free.

NCR: A History

"Free" to use images

Hello Dfrg.msc, if you're looking for images of the Reichstag that you can use to make another image try the Wikimedia Commons. Here's a direct link. Try to utlize images that are marked as Public Domain. Not sure where you'll be able to get an image of Spider-Man that you can use... but if you can try to find one that has a Public Domain license. On another note, I've seen where you've used Wikipedia as a private messaging board to chit-chat. The talk areas of Wikipedia are not meant for such usage but are primarily used for talk related to the Wikipedia project so I would council you to refrain from talk that isn't project related. Try as much as you can to generally contribute to the project by improving articles/adding encyclopedic images/working on Wikipedia infrastructure/etc. Thanks. File:Spiderman in San Francisco.jpg

From Commons: your very own GFDL image at Image:Spiderman in San Francisco.jpg. Please study the licensing system at GNU Free Documentation License to attribute it properly - not hard at all, just acknowledge your sources and also licence it as GFDL. I don't think climbing down a building is any safer than climbing up.--A Y Arktos\talk 10:56, 5 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks mate, I can use these.

Dfrg.msc 11:12, 5 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

A fellow user had mistakenly reverted out your question on Talk:Spider-Man but I restored it. I noticed however that you added the possible copyvio image to your original message. Please don't post the image for display (links are fine) further on Wikipedia until it's copyright status is verified as doing this is counter to policy. Ok, here's to hoping that you can come up with another image in the meantime. :-) Netscott 14:33, 5 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks! I'll have to start a Spider-Man/public buildings mailing list...

By the way, about the brilliant picture: If its copyright status is a problem, you may be able to recreate the image using similar pictures from the Commons. Hope that helps! Snoutwood (talk) 20:14, 9 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Image upload issues

Your upload of the Jeff MacNelly image was done under false pretenses -- the Pig of War is *not* public domain, and uploading it as such places the project in legal danger. Right, thats it.

Dear Sir/Madam, Firstly, I find your using of "Kids" to be derogitory and offencive. By Your using of the phrase "These Two" it seems you have again branded F 22 and me together. And again I must stress to you that we are not the same. "User:Dfrg.msc is a self-admitted friend of Carbine's (Which is true but Carbine is long gone now), and has often been precariously close to an indef block himself (When? If I have ever been cautioned or close to an idefinate block; why then was I never told?), engaging in similar behavior." This "similar behaviour" reference I find offencive and un-true, I belive this "behavior" relates to vandalism and I assure you that I have never engaged in any of that. I am realtivly new, and because of this I have made mistakes. Were you new once?

And let me tell you something: NO ONE always contributes usefully, not even you two. Sea of garbage? Sea of garbage! That's low. Calling anothers contributions a sea of garbage can only be thought of as a blatant personal attack - something us Wikipedians don't take lightly Brassy. Have you looked at my contributions? I mean, really looked at them? I do bloody contribute and when I'm not I have to fight so hard to keep those conributions on it defeats the whole purpose! I contribute at the blistering internet speed of 24.5/kbps, so what would take you a second, takes me half the day!

I have only ever been Bollocked for First breaching Wikipedia: No climbing the Riechstag dressed as Spider-man which I am responsible for and is now Supreme Cabal policy.

Please don't use fair-use images in userspace

Fair use images are not permitted in userspace, and place the project in legal risk. I have taken the liberty of removing all those I could spot from your userpage. Please do the same for your talk page and avoid their use in the future in userspace. --Improv 20:39, 11 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • The best way to find out is to visit the page for the image in question and see what license it provides. Note that sometimes this is wrong, and if it is found to be wrong, generally the image should be deleted. Be very careful when uploading new images that you provide information as to the source of the image and any relevant license issues accurately. It is a major problem for the project when people do not do this, because it puts the project at legal risk. I am admittedly worried about you as a user because of your tendency to spend a lot more time on pranks and showing off than contributing, so I'm keeping an eye on what you're doing. If you could change your focus towards improving the projects rather than making people laugh or being weird, that'd be great. --Improv 14:34, 12 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

With your continued vandalism (pranks or no) and problematic contribution to Wikipedia, you're coming close to exhausting community patience. I believe you have the potential to being a productive and nondisruptive editor, please do so. It would be a wonderful show of good faith to clean all the crap off of your userpage/talkpage, appropriate license or no (e.g. the FIS, Loah loah, and so on) --Improv 14:23, 13 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Seconded. More than enough already. Just zis Guy you know?
  • Fine, but Im keeping the boxes. Dfrg.msc 23:24, 13 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • Things look better! I hope this is the start of productive harmony. To answer your question, "Free Use" is not something that's ever appropriate on userpages. If you want to use an image on your userpage, either find it already present here, and check the claimed license, create it yourself (ensuring there no license issues), or edit it from licenses that permit such editing. As a rule of thumb, random images you find on the web are not ok to upload to Wikipedia. I advise you to use images sparingly on your userpage, and generally focus on improving articles. --Improv 00:02, 14 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Dfrg.msc, I've noticed your efforts to include a history of the decree on it's talk page. What I would suggest you do is copy that history over to a user page of your own, say like User_talk:Dfrg.msc/WP-SPIDER history and then just make a small link from the talk page to your user page. I suspect other editors won't mind if you do that and will leave your link. Hope that helps. Cheers. (Netscott) 16:53, 14 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
