About becoming a volunteer and this list
Please note that this is the "social listing" of volunteers, not the volunteer signup sheet. To become an actual volunteer and for you to be recognized by our statusbot as a volunteer so that your edits on the main page show up in the "Last volunteer edit" of our status box, you must also list your name at Wikipedia:Dispute resolution noticeboard/Volunteering#List of the DRN volunteers. For those reasons, listings here which say nothing about the editor other than their name or name and avatar are subject to being removed, especially if they are not also listed in the proper place to actually become a volunteer.
I'm Steve. I've been doing dispute resolution on-and-off for around seven years. I have a relatively decent knowledge of most policies. I generally prefer to take on more complex cases. Mutual respect is important to me, so I expect that you are prepared to put aside differences and work together as best as possible to bring the issues to a close. I also help maintain the noticeboard along with other volunteers, and would be happy to provide prospective volunteers with assistance or advice.
I am Guy Macon. I have years of experience resolving disputes as an engineer, engineering manager, and director of engineering. I prefer the more controversial cases where emotions run high and a calm. reasoned, and structured discussion is needed.
Please note that as of the start of 2016 I am taking a temporary break from all dispute resolution activities, and will be focusing on creating and editing articles for a while. I will be back, but right now I need a break so that I don't become burnt out.
I'm TransporterMan. (The transporter part refers to transporter bridges, not to transporter vans or other kinds of transporter.) About all I do at Wikipedia is dispute resolution, volunteering both here at DRN and also at Third Opinion and being a member of the Mediation Committee. In real life, I'm a transactional lawyer (the kind that writes documents and does legal transactions rather than the kind that goes to court) who's been practicing law for over 35 years. I have experience on both sides of the mediation table, both as a giver and taker of mediation, and have received a good deal of mediation training.
I've been around on Wikipedia since 2005 in some form or another. In the last year I've become more interested in how the Wikipedia community works and assisting there. I started volunteering at DRN to help resolve disputes between editors over content as I thought it was an interesting challenge which usually ends up with me learning about a subject I'd previously never considered. I like to think I can bring a calm voice of reason to the table and refrain from bias in discussions. Feel free to message me on my talk page for assistance or send me an email if you wish to discuss something in private.
GoRuck junkie, Operator of HasteurBot, Guardian of standards, "Zombie Thread" DRN closer. I was involved in the incubation of DRN (and cabalist #3) and had a hand in helping sheperd some of the earliest resolutions. I don't edit DRN all that much any more (as I'm neck deep in Articles for Creation and BotRequests). I keep an eye on the DRN dashboard to help guide DRN threads that have gone on far too long to try and hammer out a compromise and get the thread into the grave. Poke me on my talk page if you need help getting a thread into the coffin.
I'm Mark Miller and I registered at Wikipedia on 08:08, 25 January 2007. My DRN Experience is with political, social and history disputes. Also very involved with many LGBT related disputes, art history and art in general. Image disputes, non free content, licensing and image policy disputes. Helped create the DRN volunteer guidelines and edited the DRN header making it a little more "user friendly". I help out off and on as time permits.
I'm Ebe123, a Wikimedian who contributes mostly to the Wikimedia Incubator. I am not so active here, but I'll try to help out. For the past little while, I was mostly aiding newcomers around this site.
I am an active and experienced Wikipedia user. I review changes and articles for vandalism. I am always ready and willing to help out with anything that arises.
As a former Cabalist, I assisted in a few cases, and have decided to resume similar activities here. Ping me or email me if you would like my assistance on a matter. I do like to have things somewhat organized, even if it makes it seem SUPER ULTRA OFFICIAL, which it obviously isn't at all. It's just me trying to keep the case easy for people to look back on and/or assist with.
I'm MrScorch6200. I contribute to Wikipedia by mainly resolving disputes such as edit wars and other various situations. I hope to help anyone with any type of dispute. MrScorch6200 is the current coordinator of DRN.
I have been a member of Wikipedia for several years and it's easily one of my favorite sites. I want to make this the best site it can be, and if I can improve the site by helping to solve disputes, I'd like to do that.
I've been an editor since December 2005. In the past, I have worked to settle some disputes, some successfully, some not, including some on Wikipedia. In June 2013 I signed up as a DRN volunteer. I have some experience in geology, geography, law, philosophy and information management. In general, I like the structured discussion approach to bringing parties together.
Oh hey, we get to talk about ourselves? Um...I've been fairly active at WP:FILM and can talk about film/television policies in general. I'm probably a bit of a deletionist with a strong belief with regards to sourcing and original research and such, but I at least like to think I can at least try to see all sides of an issue and make some vague attempt at being tactful when I talk. I've got a BA in English Writing and have been editing here since 2008. I work at a bank and admittedly try to keep most of my interaction with Wikipedia "casual". Oh, and this is all TransporterMan's fault. :P
(What's So Funny 'Bout) Peace, Love, and Understanding? It is important to bring a calming voice into any dispute conversation thereby changing editors from adversaries to collaborators.
I am Benison. I have been around Wikipedia around 2008. But I had made an a/c an year earlier and made about 5000 edits. Still I can help you in any dispute about astronomical articles, which I prefer more. I am also a calm anti-vandal.
Hi, I've been a content creator and editor at Wikipedia since 2008. I'm a member of the Mediation Committee and I've participated at most of the noticeboards as well as several Arbitration Committee proceedings and enforcements. I enjoy assisting editors in civil dispute resolution. Differences in opinion and style are the inevitable side effect of the WP collaborative format but we can work together to find common ground, compromise and consensus in a moderated setting. I look forward to working with you. Cheers!
I am a relatively new Wikipedian, although I created my account back in 2010. I mainly do anti vandal work- recent changes and new page patrolling- but am trying to expand my focus.
I am happy to help in any dispute. I promise to be impartial, fair, and logical in helping guide the affected parties to a mutually beneficial resolution to whatever disputes are involved. :-)
I am Icarosaurvus, and I have been making small edits to Wikipedia for years as an unregistered user. I've some conflict resolution experience, mostly as a teaching assistant who often saw group projects devolve into bickering while the bickering parties attempted to operate heavy machinery. I am happy to lend a hand, especially as there are fewer heavy objects to be tossed about on Wikipedia than in a machine shop.
I'm Mahensingha (See My my userpage), a rollbacker, reviewer, Copy Editor and Translator here on Wiki. I can assure of having never been a part of dispute with any one, I regard the views of the editors and can manage the conflicts with in the wiki rules framework, if given a chance. Thanks.
I have been editing Wikipedia since 2005. My philosophy is that Wikipedia is an electronic work place, and that disputes should be resolved collaboratively.
Looking to get more involved in administration type activities so I've decided to start by helping at DRN. I've been an editor for several years, spending most of my time patrolling new pages, I also contribute to articles of interest and have created a few articles myself. Having been involved in past disputes myself helped me learn a lot about staying calm and not getting too worked up on Wikipedia, and now I would like to continue that by helping out here, helping others, while at the same time hopefully garnering trust from fellow Wikipedians. Some day I'd like to be an admin, but not sure I have the track record for it at this point. A calm helpful demeanor at DRN will help me reach that goal.
I'm Pcfan500.I am a very calm person. I've only been on Wikipedia for a few months now and I have been especially active, even during my exams. I am a rollbacker and a pending changes reviewer. Many of my edits are anti-vandalism edits- that means I revert vandalism and keep pages in a clean state. I can assist in dispute resolution as I am calm and good at working out compromises and a "middle ground". I am a rollbacker and a pending changes reviewer.
I'm SPACKlick, I've been cruising around Wikipedia for a while now dipping in and out of things here and there. I've been in my fair share of discussions that got heated and have always appreciated external voices to keep things moving. Hope to give back here and help wiki keep growing and building
I have been on Wikipedia and actively contributing; normally to the maintenance side of things. I will always strive to come to a peaceful settlement that is fair.
I have been on Wikipedia since March 2006 and with something over 70,000 edits now, I am probably best-known for my work on horse-related articles, which have had more than their fair share of drama over the years, so if I may be permitted a moment of horrible puns, I think it's past time for me to, um, trot over here and help with conflict resolution. I cannot say "neigh" to the need for more horsepower to pull the wagons of dispute resolution!
I'm a relaxed, practical person who can easily remain emotionally uninvolved in online conflicts, and I have an easy time understanding and recalling the tenets of Wikipedia content and conduct policies. I'd be more than willing to help get discussions moving forward in a positive way.
I've been in Wikipedia a little over three years. Have a pretty good handle on policy and guidelines and always have the best interest of the encyclopedia in mind with the work I do here. I'm far from perfect but want to make more of a positive contribution than just looking for vandalism and editing. Am happy to help out here as often as possible.
I helped out here in a past wiki-life and look forward to assisting. My involvement will be fairly limited, but I promise to bring impartiality and my full commitment when I do get involved.
I'm Sage. I have been an active editor for six months now. I waded into controversial topics like Glyphosate but i have a wide range of interests from Hoe to Geobacter to Henry David Thoreau. I find Wikipedia fascinating from a sociological and epistemological perspective. I think i have a knack for boiling conflicts down to their primary questions, and then finding a way to work out a solution. I think a lot about point of view, such as what is worthy of representing in Wikipedia, and how to weight and represent different points of view. I think a lot about power dynamics in the editing of articles. I'd like to try my hand as a volunteer dispute resolver.
I am a longtime editor, a full-time engineer, a history buff, and an avid reader. I'm an incredibly calm person and would love to help you with any disputes you may have.
Hi, I am Faendalimas, I wish to assist those with disputes in particular over science related topics as that is my own specialty as a practicing scientist. However I am happy to help anyone. I am a taxonomist / paleontologist specialising in turtles and zoological nomenclature.
Hello, My name is Brett. My background is biology, chemistry and forestry. I am an amateur historian of the Herodotus school, an amateur archeologist and a world traveler. I am a fan of logic, rhetoric, philosophy and do my best to diffuse situations counterproductive to discourse.
Been around over 10 years. Much of my WP time is spent answering questions, informally moderating disputes, and participating in RfCs, especially on policy and guideline matters. I'm readily able to self-identify when I have a conflict of interest, and to distinguish WP:POLICY and WP:PROCESS requirements from my own personal opinion of "how things should be". It's been my experience that urgent-seeming matters rarely really are, and that taking a step back and letting tempers cool is often conducive to finding compromise.
Hi, I'm TheLogician. I've been an editor for about two years now. Currently a graduate student in mathematics. I don't have a whole lot to add to articles, but I think I can be an excellent resource here. I'm good at staying neutral, balanced, and focused - as any logician should be!
I've only been on Wikipedia for several months, but in these several months, I've learned greatly about the policies and guidelines. Probably the youngest volunteer here at age eleven, I will do my best to be neutral and focused. I've solved many non-Wikipedia related disputes in the past and will now work on ones in Wikipedia.
Hi, I'm ThePlatypusofDoom! I have an unhealthy obsession with putting the word "Platypus" in usernames. I am new to dispute resolution, but I'm happy to help. I try to make decisons based on what will help the encyclopedia.
hi. i have just short of 8 years of experience in law enforcement hostage negotiation. I have a thorough grounding in de-escalation theory and roughly 200 hours of intensive clinical training on mental illness.
