Controversies
Pedophile controversy
Onision has been involved in multiple controversies for his activity concerning minors, with many accusing him of being a pedophile. He began dating his current wife when he was 29 and she was 17, (although at the time they moved to New Mexico where this is not illegal) and he currently lives with two teenagers, both of which he has sexual relations with. In late 2016 to early 2017 he was heavily criticized for creating videos where he reviewed the bodies of girls, some as young as age 12, in images where some were decently clothed while others only partially.

While occasionally providing tamed responses to girls who are more in shape, he reportedly told a young, bigger girl that she had a “shrek body.” He also made comments on whether he thinks the girls suffer from anorexia based on their pictures. <blockquote>“I know anorexia doesn’t have a look, but if it did, it would look like this,”</blockquote> On a seperate photo of an Asian girl with a lot of acne, he commented, “Whatever, not all Asian people can be perfect." Onision was actively encouraging these images to be posted at the time on his website onision.xyz, and used this in his defense, saying that the children had actively posted these images themselves. In his defense he also claimed he found children “extremely unattractive.”

Christina Grimmie tweet
Onision was heavily criticized following his rant on mourners after the death of Christina Grimmie, when she was fatally shot on June 12, 2016, saying on twitter:

<blockquote>"Christina gets shot and you all prayed for her. One, if your god cared she would not have been shot. Two, you prayed, she still died. Wake up." </blockquote>

Onision's actions were branded as "insensitive" and "wanting to shine attention on himself and his own beliefs in a time when the YouTube community was in mourning."
