Champissage (a trademark; possibly a portmanteau of chāmpi, the Hindi and Urdu term for the practice, and massage[1]), also known as Indian head massage, is an alternative medicine massage. In champissage, the head, neck and face are massaged. Indian head massage was brought to the west by Narendra Mehta in the 1970s.[2]
Evidence
There is no scientific support for any claims of medical benefit from this technique.[3]
