There is a reason, and it's because Haggis's work as Dan the Man does not appear to meet the notability threshold explained at the bottom note of WP:MUSICBIO

Daniel Haggis (born 17 February 1984) is an English musician, singer, and songwriter. He is the drummer and backing vocalist of The Wombats, and releases solo music under the name Dan the Man.

Early life

Haggis was born on 17 February 1984.[2][3] He grew up in the Liverpool suburb of Garston.[4] He began studying music at the University of Liverpool, but swapped to French and Spanish after his first year because "languages have always been [his] second love" and he was already "doing so much music outside of uni anyway".[5] He also studied music at the Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts, where he met his future Wombats bandmates.[5]

Career

The Wombats

Haggis is the drummer and backing vocalist of rock trio The Wombats, alongside Matthew Murphy (vocals, guitar) and Tord Øverland Knudsen (bass). The band began as "a joke [they] didn't want anyone to find funny".[6] The band was initially launched when the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts gave them the chance to play various gigs. They then ended up gaining radio play in the UK with songs such as "Let's Dance to Joy Division" and "Moving to New York". Their first album, A Guide to Love, Loss & Desperation, was released on 5 November 2007 with success following a European tour and an Arbor Day party at Liverpool Academy. The album achieved platinum status in the UK. The band's second album, This Modern Glitch, was released on 25 April 2011 and was a chart success, reaching No. 3 in the UK and No. 2 in Australia.[7] The band released their third album, Glitterbug, on 13 April 2015; reviews were mixed, though it became the band's first album to appear on the U.S. Billboard 200, where it peaked at No. 91. Their fourth album, Beautiful People Will Ruin Your Life, was released on 9 February 2018 to positive reviews.

Dan the Man

Haggis has a solo project called Dan the Man, of which he is the sole official member.[8][9]

Other work

The Wombats appeared on an episode of the Australian music quiz show Spicks and Specks, hosted by Adam Hills.[10] Other notable performances were at the 2008 MTV Europe Music Awards, where the band performed a cover of Leona Lewis' song "Bleeding Love"[11] and on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno where they played "Jump into the Fog". The Wombats appeared on Late Night with Seth Meyers to perform "Greek Tragedy" on 28 April 2015.[12]

Personal life

Haggis lives in London.[13] Since around 2009, he has been in a relationship with a French woman whose name has not been disclosed.[5]
