Important Notice

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in post-1932 politics of the United States and closely related people. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

General sanctions relating to Covid-19

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

Please carefully read this information:

A community discussion has authorised the use of general sanctions for pages related to coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
The specific details of these sanctions are described here.

Broadly, general sanctions is a system of conduct regulation designed to minimise disruption in controversial topic areas. This means uninvolved administrators can impose sanctions for edits relating to these topics that do not adhere to the purpose of Wikipedia, our standards of behaviour, or relevant policies. Administrators may impose sanctions such as editing restrictions, bans, or blocks. An editor can only be sanctioned after he or she has been made aware that general sanctions are in effect. This notification is meant to inform you that sanctions are authorised in these topic areas, which you have been editing. Before continuing to edit pages in these topic areas, please familiarise yourself with the general sanctions system. Don't hesitate to contact me or another editor if you have any questions.

Warning

Either you start making sense and stop making accusations against other editors who are otherwise in good standing — or, you will be topic banned from the topic area, per the Post-1978 Iranian politics General Sanctions. Focus on content by providing citations to reliable sources. It's not complicated. Please do better. El_C 09:53, 1 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia and copyright

Control copyright icon Hello Baratiiman, and welcome to Wikipedia. Your additions to Isfahan have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • We have strict guidelines on the usage of copyrighted images. Fair use images must meet all ten of the non-free content criteria in order to be used in articles, or they will be deleted. All other images must be made available under a free and open license that allows commercial and derivative reuse to be used on Wikipedia.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Such a release must be done in a verifiable manner, so that the authority of the person purporting to release the copyright is evidenced. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps in Wikipedia:Translation#How to translate. See also Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 14:19, 19 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

History is purged you have access what was removed?Diannaa also can i copy copyright text to my sandbox
was it all iranicaonline?Baratiiman (talk) 15:37, 19 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
The content I removed was copied from https://www.freiburg.de/pb/,Len/208862.html. It was the paragraph that starts with "Esfahan is one of Iran's most important industrial centres."
No, you cannot copy material from Iranica Online or any other website into a sandbox. The same copyright rules apply everywhere on Wikipedia. I suggest you save such material in a Word document or use Google Docs.— Diannaa (talk) 16:41, 19 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for September 27

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Isfahan, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Jey. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 10:18, 27 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Edit summaries

Hi, please remember to use descriptive edit summaries. You have written "Added links" when you've in fact added content, in that case an edit summary should be "Add mentions of supermarkets". – Thjarkur (talk) 12:36, 27 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Bold-revert-discuss

Hi, please follow the bold-revert-discuss cycle. If another editor has reverted you with "image not relevant", then you should not add it again without explanation, you should discuss the matter on the article's talk page. – Thjarkur (talk) 12:38, 27 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thjarkur not gonna do that when its clear what is right and whats wrong Baratiiman (talk) 12:42, 27 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Wikipedia is a collaborative project, it is expected of you that you follow WP:BRD and seek consensus. – Thjarkur (talk) 12:52, 27 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Images

Images in Wikipedia articles should directly illustrate or explain the subject, and they can't rely on one individual editor's own interpretation. In an article like Fashion in Iran‎, the reader won't be helped by a photo of an anonymous woman wearing nondescript clothes that can't be very well seen; her clothing may or may not be fashionable, but there are no indications of the relevance to the article. You'll find more information at Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Images. Thank you. --bonadea contributions talk 12:46, 27 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
