== Asur Puja ==

I have found this [https://newindianexpress.com/nation/2019/oct/08/not-durga-puja-its-mahishasuras-martyrdom-that-these-tribals-observe-2044705.html website] of Asur Puja that can be added to the article, but not sure where to add. In this worshipping, the Asur community mourns the death of Mahishasura twice annually. -- [[User:50-Man|50-Man]] ([[User talk:50-Man|talk]]) 17:03, 9 March 2021 (UTC)

I doubt all the green skin thingy and the form of a giant buffalo is cooked up in the TV serials. take a look at the photo of the statue. All the durga, chamundeshwari temples in southern India have this mahishasura statue as far as I've known. --Hpnadig 11:43, 15 Oct 2004 (UTC)

TL;DR

Much too much text in one paragraph. Plus, is this copy and paste? Kortoso (talk) 22:44, 15 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Copy and Paste?

Was this lifted from: http://indianrealist.com/2013/10/14/jholawalas-of-jnu-teaching-sedition/ Kortoso (talk) 17:40, 24 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Duplication detector says maybe(I set the minimum number of words to 4; default is 2). However, for what it's worth, the blog doesn't appear copyrighted. Paris1127 (talk) 01:59, 25 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
It's Vice versa. The blog comment is in October 2013. This is the September version linked [1].--Redtigerxyz Talk 18:22, 25 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. I am trying to break it up into smaller paragraphs. Kortoso (talk) 21:02, 26 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Copied from here:

If you go to http://self.gutenberg.org/articles/mahishasura it says, "Improve this at the source", so I clicked "source" and found myself on the Wikipedia article. Their sourcing statement is a lie. Ogress 18:12, 8 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Removed a lot of text

Only the first paragraph seemed relevant in the section about Mahishasura's sister, so I removed the rest. I could not see the connection between her and any of the other information. If anyone would like to go back and edit those paragraphs to incorporate a connection with her, please do so. Mlstillo (talk)mlstillo —Preceding undated comment added 00:51, 21 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you! There's also some archaic language in here, which leads me to believe that some of this was copied from it. I've tried to modernize some of the text. Kortoso (talk) 18:36, 20 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Mahishasura's sister (Kerala)

Can someone please double check whether Mahishi is the name of Mahishasura's mother or his sister? Also, is there really a story in Kerala of his sister wanting to avenge his killing by the goddess Durga? --NJ (talk) 18:38, 20 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Here is Mahishi's entry: Mahishi_(Mahishasur's_Sister). Apparently she's his sister. Did you see anyplace where she is his mother? Sometimes myths go both ways. Sorry, but that article is extremely wordy as well. Kortoso (talk) 19:26, 20 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The article variously mentions Mahishi as his mother and his sister. I'm sorry but I cannot accept the accuracy of this article until someone verifies the facts. --NJ (talk) 00:30, 21 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Factual accuracy?

I don't know if this is the right template for a mythology article. Probably we are looking for an authorative citation. Kortoso (talk) 19:30, 20 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Asur Puja

I have found this website of Asur Puja that can be added to the article, but not sure where to add. In this worshipping, the Asur community mourns the death of Mahishasura twice annually. -- 50-Man (talk) 17:03, 9 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
