Wikipedia's standard now is to use the revealed Soviet/Russian actual designations

Since the early 1990s, much more material has become available on the Soviet Armed Forces. The actual Soviet designations of things like the SA-2 are now freely available, so the WP standard is to use S-75 rather than the DOD designation. Cheers Buckshot06 (talk) 04:05, 13 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Also, due to Northern Irish and other feelings, WP also has rule on how Londonderry is referred to in the encyclopedia - WP:DERRY, which you can take a look at should you wish. Thanks for the advice. But I'll stick with the widely used convention followed throughout the Western military hemisphere of referring to SAMs and aircraft by their NATO reporting names. They mean something more to experts than a Russian-derived xyz123 number salad! Also, referring to Londonderry by the ethnic Gaelic name is insulting to the majority Loyalist community in NI and panders to Sinn Fein and the PIRA/INLA, so I'll stick with Londonderry thanks.TopGun1066 (talk) 09:17, 14 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi TopGun1066! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia – it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Please see Help:Minor edit for more information. Thank you. These are weasel words. McMahon is a terrorist because he committed an act of terrorism, despite the legislation not being in place. Under your definition the Nazis didn't commit any war crimes because they did it before the Nuremberg Trials began.

I knew editors on Wikipedia were left-wing and anti-establishment, but this is a step too far.

The sanctions etc don't bother me in the slightest, I expect nothing less from the far-left activists who run this site, and editors like FDW777 whose pro-IRA edits are unquestioningly accepted as gospel by the echo-chamber. It's sad.
