Quan Hongchan (Chinese: 全红婵; pinyin: Quán Hóngchán,[2] born 28 March 2007) is a Chinese diver, national champion, and Olympic champion.[3] She won the gold medal at the 2020 Summer Olympics in the individual 10-meter platform event.[4]

Career

In 2014 at age 7, she started training in diving. In 2018, she joined the Guangdong provincial team.[3][5]

In October 2020 at the age of 13, she won the national championship in the 10-meter platform event.[6] At the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Quan was the youngest athlete in the Chinese delegation. On August 5, 2021, she won the gold medal in the individual 10-meter platform event with an overall score of 466.20 points. Of her five dives, three were perfect dives, two of which earned straight scores of 10 from all seven judges.[4][7]
