First paved road?

"...In 1909, the first mile (1.6 km) of concrete roadway in the country was paved...."? Not sure that this can be true. For example, the entry for Broadway in New York indicates that it was paved during the 19th century. Are we specifically referring to concrete paving perhaps?? jxm (talk) 02:57, 30 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Jxm: yes, it specifically says that it was the first mile of concrete roadway, as you quoted. Imzadi 1979  03:07, 30 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
