Extra conductors

I don't understand where the 4 extra conductors are coming from. Are they using the extra shielding from the 4 pair as conductors?

Also what does GG stand for (e.g. RJ=Registered Jack)?

There is still no information on how the connector "knows" if it should be presenting the pairs in "compatibility" mode (on the 8 normal pins) or on the new 4 pins...... Plugwash 20:12, 3 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
