Parameter issue

Dubious sponsorship

Several ads are sponsored (authored) by indefinitely blocked users. Should the ads be removed? They are: 111, 254 and 255. ☆ Bri (talk) 16:15, 17 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The ads themselves don't serve as advertisements for their respective creators, so I don't think this is a valid WP:DENY issue. You suggest a damnatio memoriae against policy. 111 advertises Wikipedia:WikiProject UK geography, which is a legit use of the template. The other two are pretty meaningless praises of wiki versus older modems. If the latter two both went away, I'd be fine with it. Chris Troutman (talk) 16:28, 17 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The point is to raise awareness of different aspects of Wikipedia, like WikiProjects, rules, and guidelines. If you dislike the ads, you can disable them as explained in the documentation. βӪᑸᙥӴ • Talk • Contribs 15:56, 14 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Extended-confirmed-protected edit request on 7 December 2021

It is requested that an edit be made to the extended-confirmed-protected module at Module:Wikipedia ads/list.
(edit · history · last · links · sandbox · edit sandbox · sandbox history · sandbox last edit · sandbox diff · transclusion count · protection log)

This template must be followed by a complete and specific description of the request, that is, specify what text should be removed and a verbatim copy of the text that should replace it. "Please change X" is not acceptable and will be rejected; the request must be of the form "please change X to Y".

The edit may be made by any extended confirmed user. Remember to change the |answered=no parameter to "yes" when the request has been accepted, rejected or on hold awaiting user input. This is so that inactive or completed requests don't needlessly fill up the edit requests category. You may also wish to use the {{EEp}} template in the response. Consider making changes first to the module's sandbox before submitting an edit request. To request that a page be protected or unprotected, make a protection request.
