Many gay men are not attracted to the gay voice

One thing that shows the gay voice it isn't "put-on" or a conscious decision is that most gay men I've met are attracted to masculine sounding voices. Thus it seems weak to believe that gay men would WANT to sound gay if it reduces their perceived attractiveness to other men. Is there any research available on this? Many gay men also wish they could sound more masculine, as is noted by the fact there is reasonable search volume on how to lose a gay voice. Of course, some gay men do play up the gay voice for fun. --Sxologist (talk) 03:37, 23 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

An audio file would be very useful here

Any language article is confusing, are there any freely-available files to add to the page so we can hear what "trap vowel" and "dress vowel" mean? Or maybe a Wikipedian would like to create one? Gatemansgc (TɅ̊LK) 17:23, 3 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I concur. How can speech patterns be discussed without examples? Janice Vian, Ph.D. (talk) 15:57, 5 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
