== Origin of "tyrant" name? ==

Is there any information on how these birds came to be called "tyrant"? There's nothing about them that suggests an obvious link to despotic rulers. There's nothing at [https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/tyrant_flycatcher wiktionary] either. [[User:Hv|Hv]] ([[User talk:Hv|talk]]) 18:12, 22 April 2022 (UTC)

Origin of "tyrant" name?

Is there any information on how these birds came to be called "tyrant"? There's nothing about them that suggests an obvious link to despotic rulers. There's nothing at wiktionary either. Hv (talk) 18:12, 22 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
